Infinity Nikki is one of the more unique gacha games as players don’t roll for new characters but for dresses, raising the question of how its gacha and pity system works.
Gacha games may have seen a massive rise in popularity thanks to titles like Genshin Impact and Honkai: Star Rail, but most follow the same formula. Players look for some sort of currency so they can roll for a chance to acquire the character they want. Infinity Nikki breaks the mold by changing up the formula.
Instead of having players try to get new characters, Infinity Nikki has them try to get new outfits for Nikki. This drastic change from the typical genre could make fans wonder what other changes to expect. Here’s everything about Infinity Nikki’s gacha system and pity mechanics.
Infinity Nikki gacha system explained
The Infinity Nikki gacha system primarily revolves around pulling from the standard or limited-time banners, called resonances, using the designated currencies. Infinity Nikki has three primary currencies and two types of banners to remember.
The first currency is Resonite Crystals which are used for the standard banners. The standard banner is permanent and has set item pull changes, though the highligdht is there’s no rush. Players can take their time or pull on this banner when they have Resonite Crystals to spare.
Next, there’s Revelation Crystals. This currency is used for limited-time banners and therefore is more sought-after. While limited-time banners increase the pull chances for 5-star and 4-star outfits, with the 5-star outfits usually not acquirable through the standard banner. The downside is that there’s always a time limit. The banner goes away when the time limit expires, which means players risk wasting their Revelation Crystals if they don’t get what they want.
Finally, the last currency is Diamonds. Diamonds are to Infinity Nikki what Primogems are to Genshin Impact. Players can acquire them through various methods, including redeeming codes and as rewards for quests. Diamonds can be traded in for Resonite Crystals and Revelation Crystals.
It’s important to note that, like most other gacha games, the standard banner is constant while two limited-time banners usually run simultaneously in Infinity Nikki. Two other limited-time banners replace the existing ones to maintain the number. However, event banners and the like could increase the number at times.
How does Infinity Nikki’s pity system work?
Infinity Nikki’s pity system ensures players get one 4-star or above piece for every 10 pulls and a 5-star piece for every 20 pulls.
While Infinity Nikki’s pity system is more forgiving than most other gacha games, that doesn’t make the game any easier. Every outfit has multiple pieces, so getting one 5-star clothing piece doesn’t matter in the long run. Fortunately, players are guaranteed a 4-star or higher piece for every 10 draws, helping players complete their sets.
As expected, the pity doesn’t carry over between banners. This means any pity built up in one limited-time banner will be lost when it expires. Therefore, pulling in a limited-time banner when it’s near expiration is likely a bad idea.
