Deadlock is a team-based game, and while it currently has enough players to whip up a 6-person lobby quickly, it’s best enjoyed with friends. Here’s how to invite friends into your private Deadlock lobby.
On August 24, Valve lifted the curtain on its worst-kept secret, Deadlock. The game had already been leaked multiple times, and fans were aware of the base model and themes. But since it’s now officially out, more players have started getting access to the game via friend invites.
It’s a 6v6 game, which means things can quickly get competitive. Those who hate arguing with mic-less strangers may want to invite friends to their Deadlock lobby.
How to invite friends to Deadlock lobby
There are two ways to invite friends to Deadlock lobby. If someone is already added as a friend, this is the way to play with them:
- Start Deadlock and locate the “Play with friends” button in the top right corner of the screen.
- Clicking this button will take you to a new screen with two sections: Party and Invite.
- In the Invite section, online friends will be listed.
- Hover over each friend’s name to reveal the invite option.
- Select “Invite friend to party” next to the desired friend’s name to play together.
It’s also possible to play with non-friends in Deadlock. Finding five friends for a full lobby can be challenging, especially since Deadlock still has limited availability and can only be accessed via invitation. Streamers may drop a lobby code into their chat or share it on social media platforms to find those who have access to the game.
Here’s how to generate a Deadlock lobby code:
- After selecting “Play with friends” button, look under the party section for “Create party code to share.”
- Click on that to get a unique lobby code.
- Share the code with friends or non-friends, who can join your lobby by selecting the “Join party with code” option in the same window.
Alternatively, players can join a lobby directly by using a unique lobby code shared by the host.
By following these simple steps, you can get set up with your gaming friends to take on Valve’s newest hybrid that combined MOBA and shooter features. And if your friends don’t have the game yet, you can just send them an invitation for that, too.
