How to get free items in Apex Legends’ Void Reckoning Event

Apex Legends Void Reckoning Event

Apex Legends has announced the Void Reckoning Event and in a somewhat refreshing twist, players can actually get some of its items for free.

The Void Reckoning Event was announced with a trailer showing off skins and other limited-time unlockables. The event also introduced a 12-on-12 deathmatch mode called BIG TDM. Unfortunately, this doesn’t seem to be enough to stop the hate from the Apex Legends community.

Earlier this month, Respawn Entertainment announced a battle pass change that immediately sent players reeling. While more cosmetics were promised, gamers would have to buy two battle passes every season if they wanted to grind a season completely. Even more upsetting for players, the battle passes cost cash and can’t be purchased with Apex Coins.

This change had gamers accusing Respawn Entertainment of being greedy and finding ways of milking players of their money. In response, many threatened to boycott the game while others review-bombed Apex Legends on Steam. The game’s recent reviews stand at “overwhelmingly negative” on the platform thanks to over 30,000 bad reviews in July alone.

For this reason, the Void Reckoning Event was met with skepticism from fans. The discourse surrounding Apex Legends events is typically defined by complaining over the monetization system. But in this case, there are a few free rewards in this event. Here’s everything you can get in the Void Reckoning Event.

Void Reckoning Event brings new legend skins

A number of Void Reckoning event skins will be available for purchase. From July 23 to August 6, players can head to the in-game store and directly purchase these Void Reckoning-themed skins:

  • Void Vanguard Wraith
  • Star Gazer Horizon
  • Astral Abyss Ash
  • Noxious Knight Caustic
  • Mane Attraction Mirage

Each skin costs 1,800 Apex Coins. Collecting the remainder of the Void Reckoning items will auto-unlock final milestone rewards like Newcastle’s Legendary Galactic Garrison skin. Of course, players can avoid grinding by using Apex Coins to acquire all milestone rewards, including this skin.

Free cosmetics in Apex Legends’ Void Reckoning Event

During the Apex Legends event, there will be a Void Reckoning Reward Shop that offers players free cosmetic items. Players can use Void Points earned by completing daily event challenges to unlock rewards. The offerings change weekly and a limited amount of Void Points can be earned via challenges every day, so choose wisely.

These items include charms, weapon skins, and more.

The Void Reckoning Event will likely not be enough to win back the favor of all Apex Legends players. Only time will tell if the player count rises up.

Milestone items from the Void Reckoning Event

Players can unlock 22 galant limited-time cosmetic items as they progress through the event and also unlock milestone rewards along the way. Each Void Reckoning item obtained during the event counts toward bonus rewards. These unlock after a certain amount of cosmetic items are collected. Players get these bonus rewards at five, 12, and 17 items automatically.

All of these items can also be acquired by buying Void Reckoning Event Packs. Every pack is guaranteed to not have duplicates.

Each pack contains one event item and two standard items. This means players ought to prepare for dropping a lot of Apex Coins if they want to unlock every single cosmetic.
