Bye-Bye Dust is the first sketch in Infinity Nikki that may leave players scratching their heads, but it’s not that hard to get it and craft the Animal Grooming outfit.
As powerful as the new Stylist Nikki may be, she needs her magical outfits to save Wishfield’s residents. While her outfits are imbued with magical powers, they are carefully crafted from collected materials, guided by sketches. These sketches are unlocked by Whimstars and scattered across the map in plain sight. That is, until Nikki must track down the elusive Bye-Bye Dust sketch.
In Chapter 1, two children named Jean and Ruby ask Nikki for help in collecting Floof Yarn. As a Stylist, it’s no challenge for her, but each task requires Nikki to have the right outfit and a recipe to craft it. Unlocking the Bye-Bye Dust sketch in the Heart of Infinity requires two stars, with the second one adding an extra layer of complexity to the task.
Why you can’t pick up the Bye-Bye Dust sketch in Infinity Nikki
When the Floof Yarn quest starts, players will already have one Whimstar. The second Whimstar to unlock the Bye-Bye Dust sketch is placed on top of the umbrella near the cafe, which players can easily spot using Momo’s vision. However, when jumping on top of the umbrella, the animation that plays when picking up a Whimstar doesn’t activate and the star will go unclaimed.
It turns out that this is just the first of many Infinity Nikki Whimstars that require a bit of effort to claim.
To collect this star, start by jumping on top of the umbrella and waiting for a circle to appear. Inside this radius, there’s another yellow star shape that needs to be investigated. For this Whimstar, the star graffiti is located on the first floor of the cafe. Jump down to find the star and investigate it. After doing this, return to the original Whimstar to claim it.
This time, the star will instantly disappear, and an animation will play, confirming that two of the necessary stars for unlocking the Bye-Bye Dust sketch have been collected. To get the sketch:
- Go to Heart of Infinity
- Select the third new icon on the graph
- Select “Acquire” under Bye-Bye Sketch card
Once the sketch has been claimed, players can use it to unlock an Animal Grooming outfit. This requires four Daises and 24 Threads of Purity. Both are readily available items that players may already own.
