The console accessory company Satisfye may have given fans an accidental first look at the long-awaited Nintendo Switch 2 console.
The existence of a follow-up for Nintendo’s Switch console is one of the worst-kept gaming secrets. Though Nintendo has kept quiet about it, it feels as though everything about the console has gradually leaked from various sources. The latest example is a console manufacturer giving fans a sneak peek at the next-gen console.
Satisfye uploaded a trailer advertising its upcoming product, the ZenGrip 2. The grip, which is a successor to the ZenGrip for the Nintendo Switch, shows what appears to be a Switch 2.
Satisfye apparently leaks the Nintendo Switch 2’s appearance
The gaming peripheral company Satisfye may have leaked how the Nintendo Switch 2 looks. In the now-deleted trailer, the company showcases its upcoming product the ZenGrip 2.
The possible Switch 2 looks almost identical to the existing Nintendo Switch. It has largely the same button and control layout, but with a new button on the face. One key difference is that the new hardware appears to be solid white or a lighter gray color.
The original ZenGrip accessory is a set of ergonomic grips for the Nintendo Switch that give the Joy-Cons the feel of a standard controller. The ZenGrip 2’s reveal shows the grips attached to a blurry image of what seems to be the Nintendo Switch but with an extra button near the home button. This follows a previous leak from social media and from other controller manufacturers regarding a new button being added beneath the home button.
However, the product is advertised as compatible with an unspecified next-gen launch, suggesting it isn’t the 2017 Nintendo hybrid console. The fact that the existing ZenGrip was designed for the Nintendo Switch suggests that this new piece of hardware is for the Switch 2.
The rollout of this product leaked other information related to the Nintendo Switch 2. The company’s website also lists the ZenGrip 2 as being available for sale with a Spring 2025 release date.
Multiple Switch 2 leaks point to a new button on right Joy-Con
The extra button on the face of the right Joy-Con is a running theme across multiple purported Switch 2 leaks from numerous sources.
The button aligns with a previous alleged leak by the Chinese social media platform Bilibili. These both align with another controller manufacturer who stated that there would be a total of three new buttons on the Switch 2’s Joy-Cons.
With that being said, the overall look of the Nintendo Switch 2 seems to be fairly similar to the original. Retaining the same general size and shape, the ZenGrip 2 product description states the accessory has a dockable design. This further suggests the Switch 2 will be a hybrid console like the original Nintendo Switch. Though, that’s to be expected considering the promise of backwards compatibility.
