Fear and Hunger 2: Termina gives players the opportunity to recruit all eight playable characters as party members, but it’s not easy to figure out how to get them.
Moonscorching is a constant threat to every person in Prehevil, with only the player character getting a little bit of grace from it. In many cases, prospective party members will only be discovered after they’ve transformed into monsters or become hostile in other ways. This means players need to be extremely particular with regard to how they approach the game, assuming they aren’t going it alone.
But with Fear and Hunger 2: Termina being as opaque as it is, it’s easy to wind up having would-be allies turn into horrifying enemies. Here’s how to keep that from happening.

How to recruit everyone in Fear and Hunger 2: Termina
All eight of Fear and Hunger 2: Termina’s playable characters can be recruited as party members. While that’s a relatively small number, it’s much harder than what RPG fans might be used to in games like Suikoden 1 and 2. However, the specific requirements for doing so can be difficult on multiple fronts. This includes both RNG concerns and the sheer difficulty associated with reaching certain areas in the game.
Because of this, while it’s possible to recruit everyone in a single run, it is fairly unlikely. Here’s how and when to get as many characters as you can, though.
Abella
Abella can only be recruited on the morning on day one in Tunnel 7, located in the forest west of the Prehevil Outskirts. If players wish to recruit her, they should do so immediately. Entering the Mayor’s Manor will cause her to moonscorch into Chaugnar, one of the game’s tougher enemies. Those looking to get all recruitable party members ought to go directly from the train to Tunnel 7 if they want to get her.
Levi
Players have two opportunities to Levi.
The first chance is during day one’s morning and evening. Players can first find him in the Old House in the Prehevil Outskirts. From there, he moves to Restaurant Bily Vul. He joins the team if players actively feed his drug addiction.
He leaves Restaurant Bily Vul on the night of day one. On the night of day one and morning of day two, a cutscene will take place near the news agency in Prehevil – West. Levi can be killed by Caligura, if the player doesn’t choose to save him. If players save him, he will move to the Orphanage where he can be recruited. Levi moonscorches on the evening of day two.
O’saa
O’saa is the toughest character to recruit. Barring bugs and some extremely precise circumstances, Fear and Hunger 2: Termina only lets players recruit O’saa on the morning of day one. He is found in Tunnel 1, beyond the deadly Centaur. To reach him quickly, players need to either get into the city early, or get a Skin Bible of Vinushka and draw its symbol on the circle in the destroyed house west of the train, he will turn hostile.
Daan
Daan will be a temporary party member on day one, but he can be permanently recruited on day two. He is found on the second floor of the White Mold Apartments. Players need to have space on their team for him. If not, he will disappear until he is moonscorched.
Marcoh
Marcoh is available to recruit on either the morning or night of day two, assuming he survives his encounter with Pav near Restaurant Bily Vul. If he does, he can be recruited at the train. If Tanaka has died already, this can be done on day two morning. Otherwise, he pals around with Tanaka until day two’s night. However, he moonscorches on day three.
Olivia
Olivia can be recruited after she gets a wheelchair on day two morning. Players can encounter Marcoh and Tanaka on the morning of day two near Restaurant Bily Vul. This “spawns” the wheelchair into existence. If Marcoh or Tanaka are encountered, they will bring Olivia the wheelchair. If they die, whether by Pav or the player, the wheelchair can be taken from them and brought to Olivia.
If Marcoh and Tanaka are both killed on day one, however, the wheelchair is unobtainable. This prevents Olivia from being recruited.
Karin
Karin can be recruited on day two, though the timeframe varies. In most cases, players can recruit Karin on the morning of day two outside the Prehevil News Agency building. However, if players encounter her earlier and anger Karin with their dialog choices, she will become suspicious of them. The only way to remedy this is not recruiting Levi, allowing him to moonscorch, and then saving her from Weeping Scope on day two evening.
Marina
Marina can be recruited once she advances to the bookstore in Prehevil. This can happen as early as the night of day one, though she can become trapped in the mayor’s manor by Henryk if he moonscorches. Players can break her out, or simply kill Henryk.
Once Marina is in the bookstore, players can find her in a chair in the shop. After selecting “What are you doing here?” and “I’m also heading to the church,” Marina will brush off the player. However, after leaving the bookstore and heading east toward the church, Marina will catch up and join the party.
