Indiana Jones and The Great Circle system requirements are rough

system requirements for Indiana Jones

The PC system requirements for Indiana Jones and the Great Circle have been revealed, and fans aren’t happy.

AAA games have seen a significant rise in PC requirements recently. PC gamers constantly hope their existing specifications are enough to run the latest games smoothly, especially AAA titles. Those concerns won’t change anytime soon after the release of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.

Bethesda released the PC specification requirements for the highly anticipated action-adventure game. Unfortunately for some fans, they may not experience Indi’s latest adventure because of those heavy system requirements.

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle requires players to have at least 120 GB of free storage, on top of other hefty requirements. Here’s the full breakdown of the non-ray tracing requirements:

Ray tracing PC requirements for Indiana Jones and the Great Circle are largely identical to the base spec requirements. The difference is in the GPU. Those who want to play Indiana Jones and the Great Circle with ray tracing will require an Nvidia RTX 4070 at the very least.

It’s important to note that the PC requirements state an SSD is required. The GPU should also support ray tracing while the game will target 60 FPS. Some have claimed the developer is reportedly banking on AI upscaling technology like DLSS to ensure players can smoothly play the game.

Why are fans mad at the Indiana Jones and the Great Circle PC requirements?

Fans are mad at Indiana Jones and the Great Circle’s PC requirements because they’re fairly demanding. Bethesda released the full PC requirements for the game on December 3, 2024, just three days before the early access period starts. Many anticipating fans may have already pre-ordered the game for its pre-order bonus or to ensure they can play it sooner.

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle gameplay

The revealed system requirements left fans accusing the game of being unoptimized. At its highest, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle demand the highest-graded CPUs Intel or AMD have. This puts the processing requirement above powerhouse games like the notoriously demanding Black Myth: Wukong.

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle’s minimum RAM requirement is 16 GB. A Steam survey conducted in November 2024 states around 50% of PC players have 16 GB RAM. This ensures almost half of the overall player base must upgrade their RAM for consistent performance.

Finally, many players believe MachineGames is forcing the use of ray tracing on players. Many GPUs that meet the minimum requirement are rendered subpar because they don’t support ray tracing. For example, say someone has an Nvidia 1080ti. Even if it’s technically a better card than the GeForce RTX 2060, its performance won’t be as good due to the ray tracing requirements.

Players who want to go on this archaeological adventure may have to hunt for some artifacts of their own to afford an upgrade.
