EA has revealed the technical specs for Dragon Age: The Veilguard’s PC release, including details on how to get the game running at 60 fps and its ultrawide HD support.
After a decade of no entries, the Dragon Age franchise rises from its slumber with Dragon Age: The Veilguard. Since its June 2024 announcement, Bioware shared many details about the newest entry in the franchise. With disappointments like Mass Effect: Andromeda and Anthem to contend with, all eyes are on Veilguard to redeem the once-beloved studio.
The plot follows a new main character, as per Dragon Age tradition. Set 10 years after Dragon Age: Inquisition, the player is an adventurer named Rook, who must stop the insidious plans of Solas, a companion from Inquisition. While the gameplay and story look intriguing enough, others are curious about its technical performance.
Will Dragon Age: The Veilguard run at 60 fps on PC?
Dragon Age: Veilguard can run at an uncapped framerate with full HDR support, allowing it to run at 60 fps on sufficiently strong hardware.
Players will have full control over the game’s performance. The in-depth post from the official Veilguard website details everything the player can change about the technical settings. Notably, Dragon Age: The Veilguard also supports DLSS 3 with frame generation, potentially adding more smoothness to the experience.
Frame generation refers to the process of generating AI frames for a more seamless visual experience. All in all, this will see players have greater control over both the graphical fidelity and performance of the game on PC.
Will Dragon Age: The Veilguard support Ultrawide on PC?
Dragon Age: The Veilguard fully supports 21:9 ultrawide monitors at HD resolution.
With how much variety there is now in gaming rigs, fans appreciated the wide range of resolution support for Veilguard. Players can also disable “Cinematic Aspect Ratio” during cutscenes to enjoy the game without black bars obscuring anything.
The FOV slider also works regardless of the resolution used. Most of these setting changes can be seen in real time from the settings menu. That means players don’t have to go through several menu screens to adjust the game to their liking. Finally, Dragon Age: The Veilguard is Steam Native, so it doesn’t require any connections to EA platforms or accounts.
Overall, Bioware seems dedicated to providing players with the best technical experience. Fans hope the game also delivers on every other front.
