Spanish streamer Ibai “Ibai” Llanos Garatea has set a new Twitch record by breaking his previous viewership records three years in a row on July 13 during his annual boxing event La Velada Del Año 4.
Kai Cenat hosts massive events and the record for most Twitch followers still belongs to Tyler “Ninja” Blevins. A strong case can be made that Ibai is the real king of Twitch, though. La Velada Del Ano 4, which translates to “Night of the Year,” is a celebrity boxing event between streamers organized by Ibai.
While the majority of attendees are Spanish streamers, the annual soiree is renowned globally and attracts a large audience. The event attracted numerous mainstream celebrities, with the likes of Will Smith attending. However, the event itself is still known for drawing millions of viewers on Twitch.
In 2022, La Velada Del Ano 2 set a new record at 3,356,464 peak viewers. That record stood until 2023 with La Velada Del Ano 3, which was attended by 70,000 fans. It’s been broken once again.
Ibai breaks his own Twitch viewership record with La Velada Del Año 4 stream

The La Velada Del Ano 4 stream peaked at 3.7 million viewers, breaking the Twitch viewership record. From there, it dipped to just under 3.6 million.
The event includes different types of fights, but fans mostly looked forward to the 10-man “King of the Ring,” where streamers lock horns to win points. This year, the wild rumble-style fight features Roberto Cein, Aldo, Folagor, Karchez, Peldanyos, Unicornio, Skain, Sezar Blue, Will, and Pelizcanger.
While the schedule was announced in advance, La Velada Del Ano events typically feature plenty of surprise appearances and fights. The event posted a wide variety of theatrics, over-the-top entrances, and shock results.
2024 also reportedly had the highest attendee count of any La Velada Del Ano event. Ibai booked Santiago Bernabeu Stadium to host 80,000 attendees, and the event was reportedly sold out. This is the same venue that was previously packed for a Taylor Swift concert in May.
