While the release date of Dragon’s Dogma 2 hasn’t been officially announced by publisher Capcom just yet, the game’s Steam page has given fans the information they need.
The original Dragon’s Dogma was published by Capcom 10 years ago and the game garnered a dedicated fan base mostly thanks to its use of the unique “mix and match” class system. Since Dragon’s Dogma 2 was first announced in 2022, there has been a lot of information about the much-awaited sequel shared. The official release date is now also revealed.
Dragon’s Dogma 2’s release date was revealed to fans thanks to the game’s Steam page upon its latest update. This happened just hours before a livestream that promised to officially announce that release date.
When will Dragon’s Dogma 2 be released?
Dragon’s Dogma 2 will be released on March 22, 2024, according to the official Steam page for the game.
The release date doesn’t come as too much of a surprise to many, as a release window of March 2024 had already been leaked earlier this month. What does come as a surprise is how the release date was revealed to fans, through its Steam page instead of through the official publisher channels.
The director of Dragon’s Dogma 2, Hideaki Itsuno, formally announced that a showcase dedicated to the game will be streaming. While it did promise to officially announce the release date of the game, fans are hopeful that more information will be shared as well.
Which platforms will Dragon’s Dogma 2 be released on?
Dragon’s Dogma 2 will be available to play on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and Series S, and on PC via Steam.
At the time of this writing, it’s uncertain whether the game will hit either previous generation consoles or other digital PC stores such as the Epic Games Store. Since Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen, the remastered version of the first game is purchasable on GOG.com, it’s likely that the sequel will be available there too.
Because it has been so long since the previous entry in the Dragon’s Dogma series was released, fans are anxiously awaiting the game hitting store shelves. They fortunately now have some official information regarding the class system in the game from the directory to go on, along with this latest reveal of an official release date.
