The rarest cards to pull in Pokemon TCG Pocket: Mega Rising

Pokemon TCG Pocket: Mega Rising has new rare cards for collectors.

Pokemon TCG Pocket: Mega Rising is introducing a number of new cards for players, and those players are already hunting for the rarest among them.

Mega Rising launched on October 30, 2025 on the one-year anniversary of Pokemon TCG Pocket. The new set introduced mega ex Pokemon to the meta, and cards like Mega Blaziken ex quickly became some of the most sought-after. There’s something for every type of collector and player in Mega Rising, including new gold crown cards.

Some cards in Pokemon TCG Pocket are always rarer than others, and Mega Rising has new chase cards for players to look forward to.

What are the rarest cards in Mega Rising?

The rarest cards in Mega Rising are the three new gold crown cards, featuring Lilligant, Klefki, and Flame Patch.

All three gold crown cards are available in all three packs and have a chance of appearing as the fourth or fifth card in the set. As the fourth card, players have an 0.040% chance of pulling any gold crown card and an 0.013% chance of pulling a specific one. These numbers go up for the fifth card to 0.160% and 0.053% respectively. Mega Rising is the first set since Genetic Apex to have three gold crown cards. Interestingly, none of the gold crowns are of the mascot Pokemon.

This ubiquity of gold crown cards in Mega Rising changes when it comes to rare packs. Players have an 0.050% of getting what many refer to as a “god pack” because of the sheer number of chase pulls. Gold crown cards have an 4.761% chance of appearing in a rare pack, with Mega Altaria having Lilligant, Mega Gyrados having Klefki, and Mega Blaziken having Flame Patch.

Each booster also has 11 two star illustration rares for players to hunt after, each with a pull rate of 0.045% as the fourth card. This totals to 0.050% per booster for a random two star card. These numbers rise as the fifth card to 0.181% and 2.000%, respectively. TCG Pocket players can look forward to trying to find the following cards in Mega Rising:

Shiny cards kept separate in Mega Rising

Unlike in past sets, rare shiny cards are only part of six-card packs in Mega Rising.

Players have a 5.238% chance of pulling a six card pack in the latest Pokemon TCG Pocket set but are guaranteed to get a shiny card. There are 42 new shiny cards to collect. Two star shiny rarity cards have a total likelihood of 31.820%, with each individual card at 7.955%. One star shiny cards will be much more common pulls, making up the other 68.180% of sixth cards.

Like many of the cards in Mega Rising, the shiny cards are separated by booster. Each contains four two-star cards and ten one star cards.

These are all of the rare shiny cards for players to hunt down:

Rare cards in Mega Rising are, unsurprisingly, hard to pull. Players who save up their hourglasses to open as many booster packs as possible are in the best position to pull the rarest Mega Rising cards. This is in part because the sheer number of cards collected leads to greater odds of pulling rare cards, and in part because each opening rewards pack points to save and spend on case cards.

With Pokemon TCG Pocket regularly updating its rules and mechanics, it’s possible that players may eventually be able to trade rare cards. Until then, keep on pulling.

Mega Blaziken ex is perhaps the best pull card from Mega Rising.
