Sparking Zero – A New Power Awakens canon & alternate routes

Majin Buu in Dragon Ball Sparking Zero

Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero’s A New Power Awakens mission is one of the hardest to find the alternate route for thanks to the precise requirements.

Dragon Ball fans have been clamoring for a game like Sparking Zero and that’s been seen in practice. Even before its official release, fans swarmed to it by the hundreds of thousands. Sparking Zero recreates iconic moments from the anime and manga, and one of the most memorable ones is the first time Goku goes Super Saiyan 3 against Majin Buu.

While seeing everything unravel in Sparking Zero’s graphics is already a sight, players can go one step further. By completing a hidden requirement, players can find an alternate end to the legendary fight. However, some players will likely struggle to meet the requirement even after discovering it.

How to clear the canon route in A New Power Awakens

Players can get the canon ending in A New Power Awakens by defeating Majin Buu regularly.

Players should progress the story regularly until Goku faces off against Majin Buu. Play the fight while ensuring the in-game dialogue continues in the background until Goku transforms into Super Saiyan 3 and the fight starts again.

Super Saiyan 3 Goku In Sparking Zero

The player will get the canon ending when they win as long as they don’t defeat Majin Buu in under 60 seconds. The aim is to let Trunks successfully find the Dragon Radar and leave West City first. Clearing the mission after Trunks is safe will see Goku use Instant Transmission to leave the area. This results in the canon ending for this section.

How to clear the alternate route in A New Power Awakens in Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero

Players must defeat Majin Buu before Trunks finds the Dragon Radar to unlock the alternate route of A New Power Awakens.

The battle’s conditions state the player must wear down Majin Buu within the given time. The only issue is that the time isn’t given. Because of this, some players might struggle to find an alternate ending to this battle.

Following Goku’s transformation to Super Saiyan 3, players have 60 seconds to defeat Majin Buu and unlock the alternate route. Spamming Goku’s ultimate ability is a good way to quickly chunk through Buu’s health, though don’t get disheartened if it takes a couple of tries to get the alternate route.

This battle’s alternate route sees Majin Buu snap and kill Babidi quicker than expected. Since Goku’s still there, he manages to convince the pink monster to give up his evil ways before bringing all the people killed back to life using the Dragon Balls.

Like most other alternate endings Bandai Namco added to Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero, the alternate end of A New Power Awakens gives the characters a much happier ending than the source material.
