Sparking Zero: All ability items from wishes and are they worth it?

After collecting the Dragon Balls in Sparking Zero, players have the ability to wish for more ability items; but are they any good and what do they actually do?

Like previous games in the Budokai Tenkaichi series, Sparking Zero allows players to equip items to their characters. These items have different effects, like improving health or increasing the ki regeneration rate. While most ability items are purchasable, players can acquire premium ones by wishing for them after collecting the seven Dragon Balls.

However, collecting the Dragon Balls is tedious, so some fans may wonder if using their wish on ability items is a good idea. Additionally, fans will want to know whether they can acquire the wishable ability items through other means. Here’s what every wishable ability item does and how to equip them.

All wishable ability items in Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero

Ability items in Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero have different effects depending on which one the player equips on a character. Here’s a list of every ability item players can get through wishing and what they do:

  1. Super Transformation: This ability item decreases the skill count needed to fuse or transform by one.
  2. Broly’s Ring: Broly’s Ring prevents players from transforming or fusing during a battle.
  3. Mirage: Allows players to automatically dodge a barrage blast after dodging one with high-speed movement or high-speed evasion.
  4. Water’s Blessing: The character slowly regenerates their health and ki when underwater.
  5. Guard Master: Characters with Guard Master are immune to guard clashes.
  6. Miracle Master: Automatically dodges attacks when the character is downed. This doesn’t apply to ki blasts.
Summoning Shenron in Dragon Ball Sparking Zero

It’s important to note that players can only get the “I want ability items” wish when they summon Porunga through the Namekian Dragon Balls or Super Shenron through the Super Dragon Balls. Those who summon base Shenron through the regular Dragon Balls will not have the option to wish for ability items.

Should I wish for more ability items?

Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero players should not use their wishes to acquire ability items, except to get Broly’s Ring.

Though these items can confer major benefits, they’re not hard to get through normal means. Almost every wishable ability item is also obtainable from the shop by the time players hit level 20.

Some items are priced at just 15,000 Zeni, so it might be a good idea to not waste a wish on them, especially since there are various ways to grind Zeni in Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero. The only exception is Broly’s Ring which is only obtainable through wishing.

Equipping an ability item in Dragon Ball Sparking Zero

Once the player follows the above steps, they’ll equip an ability item for that character. Each character has seven slots, so people can only have seven ability items on a single character.
