Sparking Zero – Canon & alternate routes for Into a Third Future

Merged Zamasu in Dragon Ball Sparking Zero cutscene

Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero’s Into a Third Future Episode Battle puts the player’s speed to the test if they want to unlock the alternate route.

Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero is considered the complete package, at least when it comes to the anime. While previous entries in the Budokai Tenkaichi series concluded in the GT saga, Sparking Zero also has characters and fights from Dragon Ball Super. One of the most memorable ones is the fight against Zamasu and Goku Black which sees the two godly beings merge.

While most players will likely unlock the canon route comfortably for the Into a Third Future Episode Battle, the alternate route’s requirement is a different struggle. Fortunately, some neat tricks can help make unlocking the alternate route easier. Here’s how to unlock both the canon and alternate routes in Sparking Zero’s Into a Third Future Episode Battle.

How to clear the canon route in Into a Third Future

Players can get the canon ending to Into a Third Future in Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero by failing to defeat Fused Zamasu within the time limit.

Those who watched the Dragon Ball Super anime or read the manga will know that Goku, Vegeta, and Trunks are initially unable to defeat Fused Zamasu. After all, the trio’s defeat is why Vegito Blue shows up.

Therefore, to clear the canon route in Into a Third Future, all players must do is survive the battle while ensuring they don’t defeat Fused Zamasu. Continue dealing damage to the enemy to ensure the story proceeds without completely defeating him. Fortunately, the time is rather short, so surviving shouldn’t be too much of a problem.

How to clear the alternate route in Into a Third Future

The requirement to get the alternate ending in Into a Third Future is defeating Fused Zamasu as Goku before the time limit expires.

While Fused Zamasu has a pretty steep health bar, that doesn’t mean it’s impossible to take him down. Using Goku’s ultimate ability is a reliable way to deal devastating damage to the fused being, and charging to the max and then taking advantage of the infinite combo can shred Zamasu’s health quickly. Those who unlocked the alternate ending for A New Power Awakens will likely find this requirement familiar.

The goal is to defeat Fused Zamasu before they complete their monologue. Successfully initiating and winning a beam struggle results in an exclusive dialogue that players can use to extend the short time limit. However, players will get the canon ending if Fused Zamasu ends his dialogue, even if Goku is in the middle of one of his move’s animations.

When done correctly, Fused Zamasu will say Goku’s name between noises of pain before the battle ends. Then, a cutscene will show Zamasu and Black Goku’s defeat at the hands of Goku. Future Trunks’ timeline won’t get destroyed since Fused Zamasu wouldn’t have gotten the chance to reach his corrupted form. The downside is that the alternate world Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero created will never learn about Vegito Super Saiyan Blue.
