The new open-world Star Wars game is coming soon, and a leak revealed details on Star Wars Outlaws targeted FPS, performance modes, and more.
The massive game set in the Star Wars universe will have the leading lady juggling work relationships, shooting down enemies, and sneaking around Tatooine and other planets. After the Star Wars Jedi series scare, fans hope Ubisoft Massive steps up and fills the gap with an immersive Star Wars experience. But many are wondering if the studio is up to the task, especially as it relates to the console versions.
Despite the game’s release being just a few days away, Ubisoft’s Massive Entertainment hasn’t disclosed details about the Star Wars Outlaws console version. Thankfully, a few leaks have given fans all the details they need to make an informed decision.
Star Wars Outlaws console FPS and modes
Star Wars Outlaws will reportedly have three options for balancing graphical fidelity and performance.
The game is already in the hands of reviewers and some discussed the game’s performance options on the ResetEra forums. Although the review embargo is lifting on Monday, August 26, it hasn’t stopped some content creators from sharing details about the game. Among the leaked details are the Star Wars Outlaws graphic modes and supported FPS. The game is said to come with three graphical modes:
- Favor Quality
- Quality
- Performance
The “Favor Quality” mode is said to target 40 FPS on consoles. It is similar to the one in Ubisoft’s last big open-world game, Avatar: The Frontiers of Pandora. The game also had three graphic modes. The Favor Quality mode attempted to keep a stable 40 FPS while the “Quality” mode was capped at 30. The performance mode usually targets 60 FPS on consoles. However, it’s not clear whether Star Wars Outlaws can keep that framerate steadily.
As with other games, it’s possible it could launch while struggling to hit that mark, then get fixed over time. While those concerns are big for console gamers, there are some questions about the game’s PC capabilities as well.
Star Wars Outlaws required PC specs are brutal
The official Star Wars Outlaws PC specs were announced, and even the minimum graphical settings require a powerful PC.
The open-world game needs a GeForce GTX 1660 6GB or AMD RX 5600 XT 6GB GPU. These specs are just for the 1080p resolution at 30 FPS. Players will need an 11th-gen Intel processor and Nvidia RTX 4070 graphics card, for 1440p at 60 FPS,
For the ultimate graphic setting, hitting 4K at 60 FPS, users need an RTX 4080 or AMD RX 7900 XTX graphic card. All settings require 16 GB of RAM and 65 GB of storage space.
