A pair of leaks regarding Poison Ivy and Batman has fans even more frustrated over Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League than they already were.
Leaks are becoming a constant as the Suicide Squad game approaches its release date. Most of the leaks have caused a stir among fans of the Arkham franchise due to the game sharing the same universe as the popular line of Batman games. Suicide Squad will reportedly reintroduce a slew of the Dark Knight’s rogues gallery as either playable characters or important allies, despite only four being confirmed.
One of the most important Batman villains from the Arkham games was Poison Ivy. Although her fate in Batman: Arkham Knight implied an end to her story, leaks for Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League suggest the book has opened once again on the character. But word is that Poison Ivy’s return won’t be what fans would expect from the femme fatale.
Is Poison Ivy in Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League?
Poison Ivy is back in Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League, according to a leaker.
A major leak for Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League suggests the return of Poison Ivy to the Arkhamverse. However, it’s in a form never before seen in the Arkham setting as Poison Ivy will be reincarnated as a child.
Poison Ivy died during the events of Batman: Arkham Knight, sacrificing herself to save Gotham from Scarecrow’s fear toxin. Dying hasn’t traditionally been a big deal for the character, though.
Poison Ivy was once revived by Wally West after using the Speed Force on a rose, which still doesn’t make sense even in context. Of course, there’s also the possibility this is simply a child taking on the moniker of Poison Ivy, as a new avatar of The Green. Either way, she’s likely to play a major supporting role, given that mind control is part of the plot. Poison Ivy is famous for doing just that to her victims.
As Poison Ivy returns, however, another major character is fated to die.
Batman might die in Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League
Batman is killed by Harley Quinn in Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League, according to leaks.
The leaks imply that after the boss battle with Batman, the Suicide Squad unceremoniously puts a bullet in the caped crusader’s head. Vocal fans were already outraged because of the belief that Suicide Squad resurrecting Poison Ivy undermines the Arkham games, which wasn’t helped by the perceived disrespect toward Kevin Conroy’s final performance. Conroy played the role of Batman across almost all major video game and animated depictions of the character dating back to 1992’s Batman: The Animated Series.
Given that the story is reportedly willing to kill off Batman, the rest of the Justice League won’t be too safe, either. Even Injustice, a franchise that didn’t shy away from killing iconic characters, never pulled the trigger on Batman. That said, fans ultimately won’t know what happens for sure until the game is released.
