It’s an exciting time to be a Call of Duty fan as more details about the upcoming installment are coming to light, including a possible release date for Call of Duty: Black Ops Gulf War.
Activision Blizzard’s upcoming title, rumored to be set during the Gulf War, has been a big focus of reporters and leakers in recent months. With insiders finding new names and themes for the upcoming CoD title, a new report has made a bold claim regarding the game’s release date.
Tom Henderson of Insider Gaming has posted an exact date for the next CoD game. The good news for fans of Black Ops, or those who were just disappointed by Modern Warfare 3, is that it’s coming out relatively soon.
When is the Call of Duty: Black Ops Gulf War release date?
The release date for Black Ops Gulf War is reportedly October 25, 2024. Henderson discussed this on X, which was then corroborated by other outlets.
The most recent installment in the Call of Duty series, Modern Warfare 3, was released in November 2023, following a pattern of early or mid-Q4 releases. It would make sense for the next installment to arrive in October as well.
Besides this, it has also been stated that Game Pass owners may not have to purchase the game to play it. There were teases from Microsoft Gaming executives that Call of Duty will actually appear on Xbox Game Pass, leading to speculation that Black Ops Gulf War may land on the service on its initial release date.
“We know our core users love game pass…and the quality and the breadth of those games has only been going up over time. And you’re going to see some more really big games going into Game Pass later this year,” Xbox President Sarah Bond said.
While it’s great news for the Game Pass owners, reports also state that subscription costs will be raised. The developer may adjust the pricing of premium services to compensate for the cost reduction resulting from the transition from individual purchases to an all-inclusive subscription model. This comes at a time when Xbox executives are aggressively seeking Xbox Game Pass subscribers.
The upcoming addition of COD’s next game to Game Pass will further enhance the subscription service, which already boasts a vast lineup of titles, including Manor Lords, Starfield, Palworld, and more.
The official reveal of Call of Duty: Black Ops Gulf War, and its release date and Xbox Game Pass status, will all likely be revealed at the next Xbox Games Showcase.
