Marvel Rivals is currently in a closed beta test period, which is so in-demand that NetEase has likely run of keys; here’s what to do if your key isn’t working or if you’re owed a key but get the “out of stock” error.
On July 21, Marvel Rivals threw a safety net to those who missed the closed beta application deadline. By watching a one-hour Marvel Rivals Twitch stream between July 25-28, players could claim a free closed beta test key via Twitch Drop. This opportunity was a welcome relief for those who missed the July 24 cutoff.
The developer was true to its promise and many of those who watched a stream for 60 minutes got a Marvel Rivals drop, but it’s not working for all of them. Players are reporting a “CBT key currently out of stock” error while trying to redeem their drops. This isn’t exactly a bug, and you should still be able to claim your copy with some patience.
How to fix the Marvel Rivals key out of stock error?
The “out of stock error” might be fixed by trying to redeem the same Marvel Rivals CBT key the next day at 8 pm ET or 5 pm PT.
The error doesn’t mean that the key is void or that another hour of Twitch streaming needs to be watched. In fact, viewers can only get one CBT key drop per account, so that’s out of the question. The simple solution is to keep the code close and reuse the first thing when the distribution reopens at 00:00 UTC+0.
Marvel Rivals has a very limited number of keys available in Twitch drops. For those who manage to get one, the key is to act fast and claim it quickly. Even though the website accepts codes at any time, it’s best to claim it when the stock refreshes at the following times:
NetEase clearly mentions that the drops are strictly “first-come, first-serve,” so those who show up late will be met with the “out-of-stock error.” Players can repeat this same process until August 3, every day until the drop is claimed. The Marvel Rivals closed beta runs until August 5, so there’s still plenty of time to get into beta.
