Wuthering Waves is adding a new character named Youhu, and some details regarding her abilities have leaked.
Youhu is an upcoming resonator coming to Wuthering Waves. Developer Kuro Games hasn’t revealed many details about her except that she’s a four-star Resonator from Huanglong. However, a data miner leaked additional information about the upcoming playable character’s abilities.
In addition to the leaked details about Youhu’s abilities and her kit, previous trends give players a strong idea of when she’ll come out. With the character having unique QTE animations, Youhu is likely the first of many characters to have additional features mixed into her gameplay.
What abilities will Youhu have in Wuthering Waves?
Youhu’s abilities will revolve around ice and luck.
These leaks come from X user WuWa_Universe, who is known for revealing Wuthering Waves gameplay updates ahead of their official release. Not only are Youhu’s weapons gauntlets, but her kit has RNG mechanics that may make her a solid off-field DPS.
One of her Resonance Skills is Lucky Draw, where she receives a random Antique that changes the trait of her next attack. Youhu’s basic attacks will deal Glacio damage to opponents, and some of them will perform Lucky Draw. This adds component to her attacks, which can either help or hinder players in total.
She has two inherent skills. The first is Treasured Piece, where she restores HP for nearby party members, while the other is Rare Find, where she gets a 15% Glacio DMG Bonus for 14 seconds.
The standout feature of this character is that Youhu’s Resonance Skill and Resonance Liberation come with quick-time event mechanics. Players must press one of four inputs at the right time. It’s likely that correctly timed inputs will increase the damage or effectiveness of Youhu’s abilities.
Youhu release date for Wuthering Waves
Based on previous releases, Youhu will likely launch in Wuthering Waves on September 29, 2024.
Wuthering Waves always launches new updates shortly after character banners expire. Xiangli Yao’s banner is set to run until September 28, 2024. Therefore, players can expect Wuthering Waves version 1.3 to launch shortly thereafter.
Wuthering Waves version 1.3 is slated to add two new characters; Youhu and the five-star Resonator The Shorekeeper. Fans will likely learn more about both characters during The 2024 Tokyo Game Show, which will run from September 26 to September 29, 2024. The event is confirmed to feature Wuthering Waves and will likely bring promo codes for players to redeem.
