YouTube bans Sneako again within 1 day of unbanning him; why?

Sneako YouTube ban

YouTube surprised users by unbanning controversial streamer Sneako from the platform, then surprised them again by banning him less than 24 hours later; why did all this happen and is he gone for good?

Sneako is infamous for making content promoting conspiracy theories and spreading misinformation on his streams. This has caused the streamer to wind up banned from numerous social media platforms. In 2022, Sneako was permanently suspended from Twitch and YouTube after spreading misinformation.

Twitch reinstated his channel in 2024, giving the streamer hope of a YouTube return as well. He specifically called out YouTube after, citing YouTube’s removal of policies against misinformation.

On October 20, 2024 fans were surprised when, after 2 years, YouTube unbanned Sneako from the platform. However, fans were in for another surprise, as less than 24 hours after being unbanned, Sneako was banned again.

Why did YouTube ban Sneako?

Twitch has banned Sneako after allegedly posting a YouTube short praising recently deceased Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar. Such a video would violate the platform’s terms of service.

Sneako’s ban was a surprise for some fans but others praised YouTube for fixing its mistake. Furthermore, many fans were amused that he didn’t even last 24 hours after being unbanned after 2 years.

However, some fans were confused about his ban, claiming Sneako hadn’t even posted a video since being unbanned. The fans were questioning which guideline Sneako violated leading YouTube to suspend the streamer’s channel.

Some viewers claimed that Sneako posted a short about Sinwar and that’s why the streamer was banned. Speaking on his Twitch channel, the streamer heaped praise on Sinwar. He has not received any punishment from the livestreaming platform.

Is Sneako permanently banned from YouTube?

Sneako’s YouTube ban may be permanent.

Sneako was given what seemed like a permanent ban from YouTube, seeing his channel locked for two years after violating the platform’s guidelines. Now, he broke them again immediately after his channel was reinstated. This is why it’s likely that the platform will ban Sneako again permanently.

However, that is not to say that the streamer can’t return to the platform again. YouTube gives the choice of appealing a ban and if an appeal is accepted, it could result in the channel being reinstated. He’s likely facing some long odds, though. And of course, Sneako’s previous ban was thought to be permanent.
