Controversial Kick streamer Adin Ross may be going bankrupt despite recently gifting former President Donald Trump a Rolex watch after losing a staggering amount of money.
Adin Ross moved to Kick in February 2023 and began to heavily emphasize activities that Twitch frowns upon. Gambling, adult content, and problematic rhetoric were all on the menu. One of those high-risk activities was getting involved in cryptocurrency.
Adin Ross and other content creators often spent time discussing cryptocurrencies and companies operating in the space. They also encouraged viewers to invest massive amounts into the unstable market. This has apparently not paid off for Ross, with the latest dip potentially leaving him bankrupt.
Is Adin Ross going bankrupt?
Adin Ross has not confirmed that he is going bankrupt, but he seemingly confirmed losing tens of millions of dollars.
During a livstream on Kick, Ross shared how much he lost on cryptocurrency with streamer LosPollosTV. In response, the content creator exclaimed “no, that’s not real.”
The squad confirmed that the amount lost was actually legitimate. That means Ross lost around $37 million. Kick co-founder Tyler “Trainwreckstv” Niknam also got involved with cryptocurrency when he became more connected to the Twitch rival, which is backed by Stake.com, a betting site. Trainwreckstv also reported losing $40 million, making the Ross loss even more believable.
Earlier this year, Adin Ross begged Felix “xQc” Lengyel for a $5 million loan. The streamer claimed that he needed the money after gambling a lot of money off-stream and the Ethereum market crashing.
“Bro, it really f—-d me,” Ross said at the time.
Ross promised xQc that he’d have his money back “in a year” but xQc’s fans begged him not to give him the loan. The Juicer agreed to the loan, however, saying he wanted 29% interest. The two argued over the interest and it’s unclear if the deal ever went down. If Adin Ross is indeed bankrupt, xQc could be out of that money.
These admitted financial woes have coincided with lengthy hiatuses and Ross pleading for a return to Twitch. Other streamers have discussed this possibility, including Kai Cenat.
How did Adin Ross lose so much money?
Adin Ross lost tens of millions of dollars in the latest dip in the cryptocurrency market.
The price of Bitcoins rocketed up in late 2023, which continued into 2024. That number hit an all-time high, peaking at over $95,000 for one Bitcoin in June. That price dipped and rebounded in July, but fell off a cliff in the first week of August, going from $90,000 on August 1 to under $74,000 by August 5.
As is often the case, the recent plunge has seen many investors losing big. This includes Adin Ross.
