A brand new single-player Dead by Daylight game has just been announced and Behavior Interactive is collaborating with the developers of Until Dawn to make it.
Dead by Daylight has been going strong since it first came out in 2016, with events like the recent Chucky collaboration keeping the game fresh. The multiplayer survival-action game has built a sizeable and dedicated fanbase over the years, but it’s not necessarily the future of the game anymore. Dead by Daylight is set to grow with a brand-new single-player experience set in the Dead by Daylight universe.
The official X account of Dead by Daylight announced that a single-player Dead by Daylight game is in the works. Not only do fans know when they can expect more information on the game, but the studio developing the game alongside Behavior Interactive has also been announced. It’s made by the same studio that developed the critically acclaimed Until Dawn and Dark Pictures Anthology line of games.
What is the new single-player Dead by Daylight game?
The newly announced Dead by Daylight game is a single-player interactive game that is being developed by Supermassive Games and Behavior Interactive.
Supermassive Games is known for making notable interactive story games like Until Dawn and The Dark Pictures Anthology games. According to the announcement, the game will have more of a focus on the story as opposed to the asymmetrical multiplayer of Dead by Daylight.
Similar to other games developed by Supermassive Games, this upcoming Dead by Daylight game will also feature branching storylines determined by the choices the players make. In addition to being set in the Dead by Daylight universe, it’s also confirmed to take place outside of the locations featured in the game.
While references to characters present in the game are expected, the story will revolve around a new cast of characters that players will control. It’s currently uncertain if the game will feature any sort of multiplayer features. Recent The Dark Pictures Anthology games have been fully playable with a friend in co-op mode.
Will the new Dead by Daylight game come out?
There is no release date or estimate for Dead by Daylight, but one could be coming soon.
While there hasn’t been any information on the new Dead by Daylight game’s launch window, it’s confirmed to make an appearance at The Game Awards. It’s likely that in addition to seeing gameplay of the new single-player Dead by Daylight game at The Game Awards, a release window will also be announced.
At the end of the announcement video, Steve Goss, the Studio Director of Supermassive Games said that new information is going to be shared “later this year.” This means it’s likely that more information on the game will continue to come out as the year approaches its end.
