IntelDeadlock has leaked mined data on X that reveals the abilities of the upcoming Deadlock hero Mirage. His kit focuses on attacking enemies at range while evading attacks by increasing speed and utilizing evasion. Here are all his abilities and how they work:
- Tornado- Lifts up and damages enemies
- Fire Beetles- Shoot projectile at the ground, dealing damage and applying movement slow debuff in an AOE
- Whirling Dervish- Increases movement speed and gives 40% chance to evade bullets for eight seconds
- Djinn’s Reach- Projectile that roots enemies and tethers them to enemy units behind them
How to play Mirage in Deadlock
Mirage’s support-based abilities are best used to destroy enemies alongside teammates. His kit is reminiscent of Windranger from Dota 2, a versatile character that is both elusive and deadly.
Mirage may not be a powerhouse on his own, but almost all his abilities have some crowd-control mechanics. For instance, using the Tornado ability at a distance allows Mirage to deal damage while keeping his team safe. The lift aspect of the ability can let the player escape or create an opening for teammates to attack.
Fire Beetles is another useful ability that can deal damage to multiple opponents but its real benefit comes from its ability to slow enemies. It can be a strong counter against characters who rely on evasion.
Whirling Dervish allows Mirage to evade bullets while increasing his movement speed. While the ability heavily relies on RNG, it’s one of the only abilities that lets characters evade bullets.
Lastly, Djinn’s Reach is Mirage’s ultimate ability, and fits with the rest of his crowd-controlling kit. The ability can root targets in place while slowing down nearby enemies. As rooted enemies can’t move, this ability creates the perfect opening for the team’s heavy hitters to do their stuff.
