Details about the Virtual Idol faction in Zenless Zone Zero have been limited, but leaks have started to shed light on their roles, attributes, and how they fit into ZZZ.
Vtubers meet Zenless Zone Zero in an upcoming faction called Virtual Idols. In May 2024, leaks started appearing about two factions; the Sons of Calydon and Virtual Idols. Rather than shutting down the speculation, the developers of Zenless Zone Zero confirmed the leaks and even dropped more details via ZZZ’s official BiliBili account. Additionally, Virtual Idols have also briefly appeared alongside other factions during Zenless’s pre-release special program.
While the faction is confirmed, though still under a tentative name, not much else is known about them. Since then, details on these idols have been sparse. However, recent Zenless Zone Zero leaks have thrown fans a few crumbs, hinting at their possible abilities at launch which has also sparked speculation about when these virtual idols might be released.
ZZZ Virtual Idols faction includes Yutane, Rokudo, and Chinatsu; class and attributes leaked
Zenless Zone Zero’s Virtual Idols team includes Yutane, Rokudo, and Chinatsu.
According to information obtained by Flying Flame, Rokudo is a physical stun character, Yutane is an ether anomaly, and Chinatsu is an ice support. The recent leak didn’t specify which of them would be classified as S-rank or A-rank.
Upon entering the field, Rokudo Sariel’s attacks will be primarily melee, but will switch into ranged when using her burst. Meanwhile, Yutane Johiel is an android who transforms into a human version of herself during her EX special, releasing beams in the shape of a heart. On the other hand, another leaker, Seele leaker described Chinatsu as a “general-purpose support character,” suggesting that she may be useful outside of ice teams, unlike Soukaku.
Seele leaker also mentioned that the Virtual Idols will feature an ultimate combo move, though it remains unclear how it will work. Many fans are curious if it will function similarly to Koleda’s ultimate, which has different animations and effects when Ben Bigger is around, or a new mechanic.
The upcoming faction will also feature a pink Bangboo, previously showcased during the faction reveal. According to leaks, this Bangboo is expected to have supportive capabilities and is rumored to be an upgrade from Avocaboo. If it serves the same role as Avocaboo, ZZZ could finally get an S-rank bangboo with healing capabilities.
As of writing, there is still no official word on the potential release date of the Virtual Idol faction in Zenless Zone Zero yet. The “Virtual Idol” name was explicitly labeled as a temporary name and may change in the future.
The Virtual Idol faction will make its debut soon. This faction was showcased during the pre-release special program alongside HSOS Department 6 and the Sons of Calydon, with members of those factions making up the next three limited-time banners. Following Caesar is Burnice, and then Tsukishiro Yanagi. Focus will then go back to the Sons of Calydon with the release of Lighter.
With Virtual Idols being the only faction yet to be released, they may be next in line.
According to the developers’ BiliBili post, fans may look forward to an actual virtual idol experience during live broadcasts and special programs when they come out. They also teased that songs for the idols may also be a possibility.
One of ZZZ’s sister titles, Honkai: Star Rail previously introduced Robin who is an idol who even had her own dedicated album. Until the Virtual Idols officially gets released, fans will have to wait and see if they’ll get the same treatment.
