First GTA 6 trailer coming, is the reveal set for The Game Awards?

Rockstar Games has confirmed that it will be revealing the first official trailer for GTA 6 in December, and the announcement has fans pinching themselves as its release rapidly approaches.

Rockstar announced in a message talking about the 25th anniversary of the company that the next installment of the record-breaking Grand Theft Auto series will be showing itself soon. While the message was first revealed in a post on the Rockstar Newswire, it has since then been shared all across the web.

In addition to thanking the fans for their support, the message from Rockstar Games president and co-founder Sam Houser also gave fans some key information on when they can expect to see the first official reveal trailer of GTA 6.

When will the first GTA 6 trailer be released?

GTA 6 will be getting its first reveal trailer sometime in December, with speculation placing the reveal on December 7.

There were already claims that Rockstar would be announcing the much-anticipated GTA 6 within the coming week. However, many fans were rightfully apprehensive as it wouldn’t have been the first time an apparent GTA 6 leak would have been disputed. But all of that suspicion was laid to rest when the message by Sam Houser was released. 

“We [Rockstar] are very excited to let you know that in early December, we will release the first trailer for the next Grand Theft Auto,” Houser said.

The official post on X, formerly known as Twitter, raked in over 1 million likes in the first few hours after it was posted.

Will the GTA 6 trailer be shown at The Game Awards?

While there hasn’t yet been an official release date for the new GTA 6 trailer, there is already heavy speculation that it will be debuting at The Game Awards.

This speculation does have some merit to it, as the date of The Game Awards lines up perfectly with Rockstar’s announcement and anniversary. Additionally, Game Awards host Geoff Keighley liked a post on X regarding GTA 6’s trailer potentially debuting at the event.

With there being reports that The Game Awards will also be premiering the official reveal trailer of the Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree DLC, fans now have even more to look forward to on the day of the event. Those who don’t want to miss it might want to start clearing out the date on their calendars.
