Full character, team cast list for Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls

marvel tokon

Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls is one of the most hotly-anticipated fighting games to come along in years, in large part due to it boasting a character and team cast collecting some of the biggest and most popular names in the Marvel universe.

The new fighting game has an August 3, 2026 release date, and is developed by Arc System Works. Arc has curated a reputation for excellent work in fighting game design, with popular titles in its catalogue ranging from BlazBlue and Guilty Gear to Dragon Ball FighterZ and Persona 4 Arena.

This latest release could be Arc’s most popular yet, given the massive appetite for all things Marvel. But who exactly is included in the Marvel Tokon cast? Does it include your favorite character or team? We’ve got the full list below.

All Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls characters and teams

Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls will feature 20 characters at launch, spread across five different teams spanning all aspects of the Marvel universe. The featured characters represent quite the variety of backgrounds and aesthetics, though all have been modified in their appearance to fit the game’s theme of an anime-inspired presentation.

Amazing Guardians

The Amazing Guardians team features Spider-Man, Star Lord, Peni Parker, and Ms. Marvel.

Spider-Man might have been the most obvious inclusion of all. He has long endured as one of the most popular characters in Marvel and more broadly in comic book culture, and that popularity has only increased with his various feature films. He also has a long history of inclusion in Marvel-branded fighting games.

Peni Parker is less broadly known, but brings to the game another Spider-Verse character. Peni was also featured as one of the launch characters in Marvel Rivals.

Star Lord and Ms. Marvel are both characters whose prominence has increased more recently. Star Lord was given a new character disposition with the release of the Guardians of the Galaxy films that has stuck, while Ms. Marvel has been promoted through her own dedicated TV series.

Star Lord’s weapons and Ms. Marvel’s stretchy limbs should both give Arc System Works animators opportunities to present some interesting attacks and special moves.

Fighting Avengers

The Fighting Avengers team will feature Black Panther, Captain America, Iron Man, and Hulk.

Each of the four members of the Fighting Avengers team were obvious inclusions to the game. Captain America and Iron Man are founding members of the Avengers and have maintained popularity and relevance across many decades, while also being featured in a number of Marvel video games.

Iron Man specifically has one of the more interesting interpretations in Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls, as his armor design in the game is heavily inspired by the mecha of such Japanese animation as Gundam.

Black Panther and Hulk are also Marvel stalwarts, with distinctive characters and combat archetypes that should readily translate to a fighting game. Hulk in particular fills in the space of a heavy bruising character.

Knights of Doom

The Knights of Doom team is a set a villains, including Doctor Doom, Magneto, Carnage, and Green Goblin.

Doctor Doom is one of the most prominent Marvel characters in fighting game culture, in addition to his role as a major recurring villain in the Marvel universe. He was a popular selection among competitive players in both Marvel vs Capcom 2 and Marvel vs Capcom 3, and could very well be so again with his cast inclusion in Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls.

Magneto isn’t far behind Doctor Doom in prominence, both as a comic-book character and as a popular choice in fighting games. He’s likely the single most representative character in Marvel vs Capcom 2, and while he vacillates between hero and villain roles, his Marvel Tokon representation looks to be leaning into his darker side.

Carnage and Green Goblin are two interesting choices that haven’t previously been featured in a fighting game. Both are prominent members of Spider-Man’s rogues’ gallery.

The Green Goblin’s history with Spider-Man extends back decades and includes some of the hero’s most memorable and transformative stories, including the death of Gwen Stacy. Players can expect to see him flying around on his mechanized glider, slinging pumpkin bombs at opponents.

Carnage was brought to prominence during the Maximum Carnage story event in the 90s, serving as a more maniacal alternative to antihero and fellow symbiote host Venom. That Carnage was included prior to Venom was a surprise to many fans, and represents Arc System Works looking to do things a bit differently.

Samurai Outriders

The eclectic Samurai Outriders team includes Deadpool, Blade, Loki, and Ghost Rider.

There isn’t much connective tissue between the characters featured in the Samurai Outriders team, besides the fact that each has a loyal fan following. Deadpool leads the way in this regard, having become one of the most popular modern characters in Marvel with his propensity for fast action and fourth-wall breaking humor.

Loki isn’t far behind in terms of popularity. Brother to the notably absent Thor, Loki is similar to Magneto in that he has been prominently featured as both a hero and villain, depending on the needs of the story he’s involved in. His portrayal by actor Tom Hiddleston in the MCU films and in the dedicated Loki TV series has made the character a fan-favorite.

Blade and Ghost Rider round out the team as two more niche characters, though they’re by no means unknown. Blade saw a surge in popularity that coincided with a trilogy of films starring Wesley Snipes, and Ghost Rider had his own feature film experience in which he was played by Nicolas Cage.

Unbreakable X-Men

The Unbreakable X-Men team of characters includes Storm, Wolverine, Magik, and Danger.

Arc System Works went for some of the most and least obvious choices in selecting which X-Men would be featured in the Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls launch character cast. Storm and Wolverine were two obvious inclusions, while Magik was a mild surprise, and Danger even more so.

Storm is one of the most powerful mutants in the Marvel universe with her ability to control weather dynamics, and similar to Doctor Doom and Magneto, she has traditionally been a popular selection across multiple Marvel-branded fighting games.

Wolverine was as clear a cast inclusion as Spider-Man or Iron Man. The gruff and combative member of the X-Men has been among the team’s most popular characters across multiple decades, and his claws-forward fighting style represents a good opportunity for an aggressive rush-down character.

Magik has risen in both prominence and popularity in recent years. She was also a launch character in Marvel Rivals, and her combination of sword-wielding and portal-hopping sets up interesting potential for a fighting game.

Lastly, Danger represents likely the most surprising inclusion in the whole of the Marvel Tokon character roster. As the living embodiment of the infamous Danger Room, a customized training facility used by the X-Men, Danger certainly brings with her the potential for some interesting visuals and special moves. It won’t be surprising if she’s among the least-used characters in the game early on, but she certainly has potential for intrigue.
