Grand Theft Auto 3, Vice City, and San Andreas are all coming to Netflix Games for mobile at the end of this year and players will be able to get the games for free.
When the awkwardly named Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – Definitive Editon brought the three classic GTA games to modern consoles, it was met with much criticism. “The Trilogy” includes GTA 3, Vice City, and San Andreas, all of which are beloved classics. Fans were disappointed when the remastered titles from Grove Street Games were rife with bugs, technical issues, and controversial graphical overhauls.
But it seems fans haven’t seen the last of this remastered trilogy. It’s now set to hit Netflix Games in December, where it will be free for subscribers. Here’s how to play the GTA titles for free on Netflix, and when they will come out.
When will the Grand Theft Auto games come out on Netflix?
Grand Theft Auto 3, GTA: Vice City, and GTA: San Andreas from the Grand Theft Auto Series are coming to Netflix Games on December 14.
With the first trailer of GTA 6 reportedly coming soon, GTA fans are getting a separate surprise with the announcement of the iconic classic trilogy coming to the streaming platform. Ahead of their launch, players can pre-register for access.
It should be noted that the versions of the games coming to the streaming platform are not the original PS2 classics. Instead, they’re the mobile versions of the remasters that were released in 2021. The PC and console versions of the games were met with severe backlash for graphical and technical issues, though updates have shipped remedying some of these.
Netflix Games does not offer access to any Grand Theft Auto games on consoles. Players only have access to the mobile versions of these three titles, though they do offer both touch controls and controller support.
How to play GTA games with Netflix for free
Netflix subscribers will have access to the remastered GTA games for free through mobile app stores.
Grand Theft Auto 3, GTA: Vice City, and GTA: San Andreas are all coming to Netflix Games and will be available to subscribers at no extra charge. Players can get the GTA games directly through the Netflix mobile app, or through the Google Play Store and Apple App Store on their device.
Netflix has been pushing hard to incentivize subscriptions by offering access to video games. Netflix is set to add a variety of major indie titles, though the GTA games are an enormous coup for the streaming service.
