Here’s what happens after giving the strand to Krisk or the Queen

Krisk and Queen Ashiga in Star Wars Outlaws

One of the biggest decisions Kay Vess has to make in Star Wars Outlaws is whether she backs Krisk or the Queen in the Ashiga Clan, but which one’s the best choice and what happens as a result?

While she’s not exactly a galactic messiah like Luke Skywalker, Kay Vess still has exciting adventures, especially in the galaxy’s rich criminal underworld. The factions of Star Wars Outlaws are the backbone of the game’s narrative and worldbuilding. In particular, the Crimson Dawn and Ubisoft’s original creation, The Ashiga clan, have the most presence in the game’s narrative.

In The Hive quest, players must decide which leader gets their clan’s cherished treasure, the Origin Strand. This is one of the many times players are forced to choose between factions, but what are the implications of either decision?

What happens if I choose Krisk in Star Wars Outlaws’ The Hive quest?

Choosing to give Krisk the origin strand nets a huge Crimson Dawn reputation boost without losing their reputation with the Ashiga Clan, but leads to the Queen’s death.

The Crimson Dawn wants the Ashiga clan led by Krisk, the Queen’s daughter. They also helped Kay infiltrate Ashiga clan territory specifically to put Krisk in power. In the narrative, the Queen was keeping the Ashiga clan chained to traditions and the Empire.

Krisk hopes to change the Ashiga clan for the better, eager to be free of other rulers. However, the Queen believes Krisk’s path will lead the clan to ruin. Upon receiving the origin strand, Krisk murders the Queen in cold blood while Kay leaves the scene.

What happens if I choose the Queen to control the Ashiga Clan in Star Wars Outlaws?

Giving the Queen the origin strand will net the player a huge Ashiga Clan reputation boost. However, it will result in a massive reputation loss with the Crimson Dawn.

The Queen insists on keeping the Ashiga clan tied to old traditions, which Krisk believes has weakened the clan. Upon receiving the origin strand, The Queen tells Krisk to drop her weapon, and when she refuses, she’s killed by the guards.

The Queen kneels and mourns the death of her daughter as Kay makes her exit. The Crimson Dawn will understandably be furious with Kay Vess, resulting in a significant loss of reputation. Narratively, whoever leads the Ashiga clan does not affect the ending, but it does change their potential future.

While Star Wars Outlaws isn’t quite Mass Effect, The Hive quest gives players a glimpse of what could have been.
