The Dragon Age series is set to return with The Veilguard and an official date for the reveal trailer has been confirmed for the rebranded Dreadwolf.

In 2018, BioWare began teasing that there would be a fourth game in the Dragon Age series. In 2022, it revealed the subtitle “Dreadwolf” and the completion of an alpha test. Since then, BioWare has undergone a series of game cancellations and layoffs, leaving many to ponder over the fate of Dragon Age: Dreadwolf.

Solas And The Dreadwolf

Thankfully for fans, the Dragon Age team has provided fans with a date and time for a definitive first look at the game. It also confirmed that Dragon: Age Dreadwolf has been redubbed Dragon Age: The Veilguard.

Dragon Age: The Veilguard reveal date and time confirmed

The reveal trailer for Dragon Age: The Veilguard goes live on June 11 at 8:00 am PT, 11 am ET, or 4 pm BT.

For the reveal, BioWare will stream 15 minutes of gameplay from the new Dragon Age’s opening scenes. The team also teased that fans who join the chat early will get to see a few surprises. This is the first trailer since a brief clip that dropped in December 2023.

BioWare and the Dragon Age developers spent much of the time since the release of Dragon Age: Inquisition toying with different ideas, including multiplayer. However, the first reveal will show a single-player model like the previous games with a new standalone story in Thedas. Dragon Age: The Veilguard’s release date is currently unknown but it will likely be announced sooner than later.

BioWare reveals why it dropped “Dreadwolf” name

The official release date for the Dragon Age: Veilguard trailer wasn’t the studio’s only announcement. BioWare announced that the new game will not be titled Dragon Age: Dreadwolf.

While the “Dread Wolf” will still feature prominently, Veilguard should more accurately represent the content of the game according to the team. BioWare manager Gary McKay told IGN that the name change was to bring greater focus to the player and their party.

Dragon Age: Inquisition party member Solas will be the antagonist alongside the Dread Wolf. Meanwhile, the player will lead the group known as the Veilguard, a new cast of characters seeking to protect the Veil.

“This game, more so than ever, is about you and your companions; a group that you must rally to fight by your side,” McKay said.

Ideally, the upcoming reveal will provide Veilguard game information as well as an official full release date.
