HoYoverse gave fans a treat with the special program for Zenless Zone Zero version 1.4, confirming that players will receive upcoming S-rank agent Harumasa for free and confirming when and how they can get it.
Compared with past updates for Zenless Zone Zero, version 1.3 has been quite light on content. The game added two popular and powerful S-Rank agents in HSO Section 6’s Tsukishiro Yanagi and the fifth Son of Calydon Lighter, alongside some welcome quality-of-life improvements. Beyond that, there was little else as there wasn’t a new main story chapter, there wasn’t a new city to explore, and there haven’t been all that many commissions added.
The version 1.4 special program shows that the next update is set to be the biggest since the game’s launch. Alongside new story content and major gameplay changes will be two new S-rank agents. Here’s how to get one for free.
How to get Harumasa for free in Zenless Zone Zero version 1.4
Players will be able to get Harumasa for free after the launch of the 1.4 update through the Special Visitor event.
Alongside the character, players will also receive upgrade materials including Investigator Logs and Prototype Seals that will allow him to be instantly leveled to 40. Players will be able to pre-farm materials for his regular skills, but will have to wait to get anything for his core skills beyond Dennies.
Accessing the Special Visitor event will be incredibly easy. According to the Zenless Zone Zero developers, the event will be available to players who have advanced to the Prologue – Intermission portion of the game. This means that players will only have to play through the first handful of missions before they have the opportunity to get him.
Harumasa release date in Zenless Zone Zero
Harumasa will be available for free immediately after Zenless Zone Zero version 1.4 launches on December 18. The event that gives players Harumasa for free will begin on December 18, and will run until the conclusion of ZZZ version 1.6.
Alongside confirmation of the Harumasa giveaway, the Zenless Zone Zero developers also confirmed that 1.4 will take a different approach to its gacha system during the patch’s run. Instead of running two new limited banners consecutively during the update, two separate character banners will run at the same time for the entire patch. The same goes for their respective W-Engine banners.
Harumasa’s limited banner will run at the same time as the banner starring Hoshimi Miyabi. Miyabi is a long-awaited agent who has been featured in story content on multiple occasions. Despite this, the story has repeatedly moved elsewhere, focusing on the NEPS police crew and the Mad Max-inspired Sons of Calydon. Version 1.4 will see attention finally turn to Miyabi, Harumasa, and Hollow Special Operations Section 6.
