Sony seems to have revealed release date info for the highly anticipated Silent Hill 2 remake and Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater.
Metal Gear Solid Delta is the most ambitious project related to the beloved series since Hideo Kojima’s departure from Konami. Meanwhile, Konami has been eerily quiet regarding the Silent Hill 2 remake despite the announcement trailer coming out over a year ago. The game’s developer, Bloober Team, seemingly pointed a finger at Konami for the lack of communication with fans regarding the game’s progress.
Both Silent Hill and Metal Gear are deeply rooted in PlayStation’s gaming history, which might explain Sony’s interest in showcasing remakes of their most acclaimed installments. However, Sony may have gone a tad too far in its promotional efforts by revealing release date information that neither the developers nor the publishers have officially announced.
Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater release date info revealed
According to Sony, Metal Gear Solid Delta will most likely be released in 2024.
A sizzle reel was uploaded to Sony’s channel, highlighting “upcoming games in 2024.” The games include exclusive titles such as Rise of the Ronin, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, and Stellar Blade. The video also showcased non-exclusive games such as Tekken 8, Dragon’s Dogma 2, and Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. Metal Gear Solid Delta was also on the list.
The inclusion of Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater seemingly wasn’t a mistake, as its inclusion was also attached to an accompanying article on the official PlayStation blog. Konami has not yet officially announced a release date but the 20th anniversary of Metal Gear Solid 3’s original release happens to be November 17, 2024.
When will Silent Hill 2 Remake be released?
Silent Hill 2 Remake was confirmed by Sony to be coming out in 2024. This follows previous leaks suggesting that the game will come out in March 2024.
Silent Hill producer Hajime Okamoto urged fans to “wait a little longer” for updates on upcoming games in November in a statement to 4Gamer. Either Konami or Bloober Team has been updating information on the Silent Hill 2 remake page on Steam, including details on language subtitles and in-game achievements. This further fueled speculation of an imminent release. The game is also listed as “coming soon” on Steam.
All of these subtle gestures led fans to believe that the release of the Silent Hill 2 remake, or at least a release announcement, was not far off. Sony’s recent compilation video only added to the anticipation. There has still been no official announcement from Konami so far regarding the release dates or windows for the Silent Hill 2 Remake or Metal Gear Solid Delta.
