Pulchra is landing in ZZZ, but which Drive Discs and W-Engines should players use to build out this new stun agent?
For the first time since Seth’s arrival, Zenless Zone Zero is adding a new A-rank agent. Not only that, but she’s set to finally add an alternative A-rank stunner after Anby long monopolized that role. The trouble that most players will encounter is her aftershock attacks. These are a new mechanic that many players won’t know how to approach.
But how good is Pulchra, and what are the right parts to use when building her? Here’s a breakdown of the character.

Is Pulchra good in Zenless Zone Zero?
Pulchra is a modest improvement over Anby in some team compositions, but she still has the power of an A-rank agent.
Power creep is real in Zenless Zone Zero, but it’s not moving that quickly among A-ranks. As such, while Pulchra is a solid character to have and is worth building, she’s not going to transform the game the way characters like Miyabi have.
At launch, Pulchra’s value primarily lies in working alongside Soldier 0 Anby and as a complement to certain physical DPS agents. She won’t force Anby out of many of her existing spots, though.
Best Drive Disk builds for Pulchra
Pulchra works best with the new Shadow Harmony Drive Discs, as well as Shockstar Disco.
Here are some of the viable Drive Disc builds for her:
- Four-piece Shadow Harmony, two-piece Shockstar Disco
- Four-piece Shadow Harmony, two-piece Fanged Metal
- Four-piece Shockstar Disco, two-piece Shadow Harmony
- Two-piece Shockstar Disco, two-piece Shadow Harmony, two-piece Fanged Metal
Four-piece Shadow Harmony with two-piece Shockstar Disco is comfortably the best Drive Disc build for Pulchra. This combo provides extra impact and layers buffs on her aftershock attacks. Pulchra’s value primarily lies in her off-field DPS and daze buildup, and Shadow Harmony with Shockstar Disco accentuates that best. Fanged Metal can be subbed in for Shockstar Disco to add extra DPS, but it’s not recommended.
If players are planning to give Pulchra lots of field time, four-piece Shockstar Disco or a rainbow build of Fanged Metal, Shadow Harmony, and Shockstar Disco is also an option. So too is four-piece Shockstar Disco.
Once again, Pulchra’s value primarily lies in her off-field prowess, so players shouldn’t be looking to build her with the intent of keeping her on the field.

Best Pulchra W-Engines
The best W-Engines for Pulchra are her signature box cutter or Koleda’s signature Hellfire Gears. Here’s the full breakdown of what they offer.
Hellfire Gears
Hellfire Gears is the best-in-slot W-Engine for Pulchra, despite it not being her signature W-Engine. This S-rank W-Engine offers better stats with an extra effect that boosts her impact and W-Engine.
Box Cutter
Box Cutter is Pulchra’s best A-rank W-Engine option, as it’s specifically tailored to bolster her unique kit. It offers good stats with base attack and impact, and its effect boosts physical damage and daze. The Hellfire Gears is only a modest upgrade over Box Cutter, so don’t feel compelled to disassemble Koleda to help Pulchra.
Precious Fossilized Core
For craftable A-rank W-Engines, the Precious Fossilized Core is preferable to the Steam Oven. Having impact as its advanced stat helps, and the flat boosts to daze offers a lot for clearing endgame content. Do note, however, that this is a considerable downgrade over the previous options.
Best Pulchra team compositions in ZZZ
Pulchra is specifically designed to go alongside aftershock attack characters like Soldier 0 Anby and Trigger. Because of this, there are limited options for particularly strong Pulchra team compositions. There are a few specific options, however.
Best Pulchra whale team composition – Pulchra, Soldier 0 Anby, Trigger/Nicole (Plugboo)
Pulchra’s passive buffs aftershock attacks when she’s paired with an attacker or Sons of Calydon member. At present, Pulchra and Trigger are the only other characters known to have aftershock attacks. More will be added over time but in the short term, this is comfortably the best team for Pulchra.
Best Pulchra free-to-play team – Pulchra, Lucy, Piper (Red Moccus)
Pulchra gets a boost from being with Sons of Calydon agents and Lucy and Piper just happen to be two of the best free-to-play agents in the game. Pulchra and Lucy both offer off-field DPS damage, chipping away at enemies between a big Piper spin. This is especially the case if Lucy has an up-to-date build.
