Tectone calls out Kick streamers over TwitchCon drama, Erobb fight

Tectone calls out Kick

John “Tectone” Robertson called out Kick streamers harassing influencers at the recently concluded TwitchCon 2024, which included a fistfight involving Eric “Erobb” Robbins.

The streaming world has many facets. One aspect that often gets the spotlight is the toxic culture it has perpetuated online. Whether it’s endless feuds or the fallout from the Erobb and Britt breakup, there’s no shortage of drama.

TwitchCon 2024 was plagued by Kick streamers stirring up trouble. Emily “ExtraEmily” Xuechun Zhang reportedly ran away from a Kick streamer constantly harassing her. Meanwhile, Erobb traded fists with another Kick streamer over insults to his wife and kids. One streamer had enough of the drama and ranted about Kick’s influencers.

Tectone calls out Kick streamers for toxic behavior at TwitchCon 2024

Tectone said Kick streamers were a “joke” and cited multiple incidents of harassment.

“It’s insane. The only thought that I have is, damn, I wish I was there when it happened…It was a f—–g clown fest,” said Tectone in an impassioned rant.

In addition to the TwitchCon incidents with Erobb and ExtraEmily, Tectone stated there was an incident where a Kick streamer pushed someone into a moving train. In a tweet, he also called out Kick specifically for enabling its streamers to keep doing dangerous actions. Given the history of Kick, especially in contrast to platforms like Twitch and YouTube, fans found it hard to dispute.

Kick has made a name for itself by signing on influencers that even Twitch deemed too controversial, such as Adin Ross and IcePoseidon. Twitch recently banned Kick streamer N3on for approaching an LGBTQ+ streamer and misgendering her on stream, then implying she “wanted to beat his a–” despite no physical altercation occurring.

However, Tectone points out that banning Kick streamers isn’t the issue. The streamer emphasized that the platform must be held responsible for the actions of its signed talents. Kick has not officially responded to Tectone’s callout. However, it’s worth noting that Kick recently revamped its Kick Creator Incentive Program, promising significant increases in earnings for its creators. The rewards may incentivize streamers to push boundaries even further negatively.

Tectone calling out Kick for toxicity was an odd turn. The gacha game streamer is notorious for harassing both other content creators and random social media users who disagree with him. 2024 has seen him land in hot water over anti-LGBT comments and jeer another streamer after they discussed suicide attempts.

Still, Tectone was far from alone in discussing hooliganism from Kick streamers. Names including Ludwig “Ludwig” Ahgren and currently active Kick streamer Felix “xQc” Lengyel called out the bad behavior.

What happened with Erobb at TwitchCon?

Erobb was involved in a fistfight with Kick streamer Darius at TwitchCon.

Darius was among the Kick streamers involved in harassing Twitch streamers. On the streets outside the event, Darius and Erobb were involved in a verbal confrontation. This escalated to Darius using a racist slur and mocking Erobb over his recent breakup. Erobb is seen attempting to punch Darius before the two grapple and get pulled apart.

Erobb hasn’t made any public statements regarding the matter.
