Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is reportedly set to add Victoria Fries as a playable character, but who is this new rendition of the Freeze character, and how do they relate to the established Mr and Mrs Freeze?
Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League has finally been released and met with a mixed reaction from fans for reasons ranging from its extra DRM to its monetization model to its clumsy continuation of the Arkhamverse. While the base game revolves around the colorful cast of misfits starring Harley Quinn, King Shark, Captain Boomerang, and Deadshot, several other DLC characters will be added to the game, with Victoria Fries being one of the more surprising additions.
Miller Ross, who has previously revealed information regarding Suicide Squad, claims that a version of Batman’s antagonist, Mr Freeze, will be coming to Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League as a DLC character. The leaker also gave information on when fans might get to play the character.
Who is Victoria Fries in Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League?
Mrs Freeze, or Victoria Fries, is likely a gender-bent, alternate-reality version of the familiar Mr Freeze character.
Though Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is primarily focused on familiar DC Comics characters, it has both new takes on established ones and a few originals. The Freeze fans are used to seeing is Victor Fries and goes by the alias Mr Freeze. The “Mrs Freeze” fans are used to is his wife, Nora Fries, who has been portrayed as cryogenically frozen as he searches for a cure, with those efforts seeing him come against Batman. Some recent depictions in comics have seen her treated, only to become a supervillain herself.
However, Suicide Squad’s version of Mrs Freeze will reportedly be Victoria Fries, an original character from an alternate universe. She’ll likely have a similar villain story to the original version of Freeze and might be a part of the Suicide Squad in her universe, just like the game’s new iteration of the Joker.
As her villain name suggests, Victoria will probably use her ice gun to attack and freeze enemies from a distance and if her suit is nearly as bulky as her Arkhamverse counterpart, she’ll likely be a tank character like King Shark. The first look at what seems to be her silhouette suggests that she might use her boots to create an ice path and skate along it for improved mobility.
When will Mrs Freeze come to Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League?
Mrs Freeze is expected to be released in June 2024 as part of Suicide Squad’s Year 1 Season 2 DLC.
Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League’s DLC schedule will kick off in March 2024 with Season 1, with four currently mapped out. Every new season will add a new character to the roster, and Mrs Freeze is reportedly part of the second season.
Since Season 1 begins in March, every season will likely last three months and Victoria Fries will come around around June 2024. Rocksteady has not confirmed that Mrs Freeze will come to Suicide Squad as a DLC character.
