Wuthering Waves version 2.0 is a big one for the game, but that doesn’t mean fans aren’t already clamoring for the release date of version 2.1 and saving materials for its banners.
It’s a good time to be a Wuthering Waves fan. The game’s PlayStation 5 release arrived after months of uncertainty, and the update brought a slew of big changes on established platforms. But the gacha game grind never truly stops.
KuroGames had no time to rest on its laurels after shipping version 2.0. The next update’s release is already on the horizon. Here’s what we know about Wuthering Waves version 2.1’s launch, and the banners it will bring.
Wuthering Waves 2.1 release date
Wuthering Waves 2.1 update is estimated to be released on February 13, 2025.
The massive 2.0 patch arrived on January 2, 2025, bringing the long-awaited PS5 version of the game as well as a sizable gameplay update. But gacha games are defined their constant churn of new content.
While there’s plenty to do in version 2.0, many players have already burned their way through the story content. The arrival of Roccia is set to be the highlight of version 2.0’s second phase. Speaking of, there are plenty of things for fans of Wuthering Waves to look forward to when it comes to new characters.
Wuthering Waves version 2.1 banners, five-star resonators
New resonators Phoebe and Brant are set to be the top draws of the 2.1 banners, while Shorekeeper and Changli will be highlighted in rerun banners.
The first phase of WuWa version 2.1 will have Phoebe featured in a limited-time banner. Phoebe is set to be a spectro DPS resonator who uses a rectifier. A powerful spectro DPS option is a niche that hasn’t been filled especially well to this point in Wuthering Waves’ existence. This makes her a valuable pickup for many players, but especially early adopters.
Following Phoebe will be Brant, a broadblade fusion unit. Brant’s arrival has been long-awaited and leaks regarding the character have suggested he could be unlike anything seen in the game thus far. He’ll be the star of Wuthering Waves 2.1 phase two.
Running alongside these banners will be a pair of reruns for some of the strongest characters in Wuthering Waves. The Shorekeeper is one of the strongest supports in Wuthering Waves when given a proper build. Changli has become one of the most recognizable characters in Wuthering Waves and will likely pair up brilliantly with Brant. Depending on her build, she can be a formidable DPS or sub-DPS.
Regardless, new Wuthering Waves players will be spoiled for choice when it comes to which resonators they’ll pull for. Alongside Carlotta’s arrival and Jinhsi set for a rerun, there are plenty of characters to pull for both for their power in battle and their their role in the story.
