Following a series of strong damage dealer additions like Jinhsi and Changli, Wuthering Waves is starting to bring in more off-field damage and support options. Zhezhi, an artist for hire, joins the roster as a five-star Glacio character armed with a Rectifier. Her support-focused abilities, combined with her off-field damage make her a future-proof and valuable unit both for existing and upcoming DPS characters in the game. Therefore, any investment players make in her is well worth it.

Wuthering Waves success doesn’t come easy, though. Here are the ins and outs of Zhezhi’s kit and the best Echoes, weapons, and team comps to maximize her potential. 

How to play Zhezhi in Wuthering Waves

Zhezhi deals damage off-field with coordinated attacks and boosts her allies’ resonance skill damage, similar to Taoqi.

The shy painter Zhezhi’s kit is nothing players haven’t seen before. Nevertheless, her ability to do all these things at once makes her one of the must-have supports right now, especially for players who have spent the time and materials on Jinhsi ascension. 

Although her basic attack damage might seem pretty mediocre, it plays a crucial role in boosting her overall damage through her skills and resonance liberation. Each instance of damage she deals, including with her Forte Circuit and resonance liberation, scales with her basic attacks.

Zhezhi’s Forte Circuit allows her to have up to 90 “Afflatus.” Her circuit has three bars, each holding 30 Afflatus, which she gathers from normal attacks and intro skills. With 30 Afflatus, she can summon a Phantasmic Imprint – Middle by using heavy attacks. On the other hand, if she has at least 60 Afflatus and uses her resonance skill while no Phantasmic Imprint is present, she will summon one Phantasmic Imprint – Left and one Phantasmic Imprint – Right.

Meanwhile, if a Phantasmic Imprint is present, her resonance skill changes to Stroke of Genius. Hitting this skill allows Zhezhi to blink to the Imprint’s location and deal Glacio damage to enemies.

The quickest and most efficient way to maximize her damage and concerto gain is to follow this attack sequence:

• Trigger intro skill 
• Spam basic attack button until the forte bar is filled
• Use the resonance skill to summon two Phantasmic Imprints on either side, then immediately use a basic attack to place the Phantasmic Imprint – Middle.
• Continuously blink from one Imprint to another. 

Once she’s stacked enough concerto, swap to another character to use her Outro skill, which boosts their Glacio and resonance skill damage.

On the flip side, Zhezhi’s Resonance Liberation brings out the Inklit Spirit which will perform coordinated attacks when the active resonator deals damage. 

Best Echo sets for support and sub-DPS Zhezhi builds

Two of the best Echo sets for Zhezhi include 5-piece Freezing Frost or 5-piece Moonlit Clouds.

These are the best sets to boost her offensive and support capabilities respectively, and should be paired with those specific Zhezhi builds. Players are well-served going all-in on one or other, rather than trying to make her a jack of all trades.

Best Zhezhi Echoes for Sub-DPS: 5-piece Freezing Frost

Players can boost Zhezhi’s offensive capabilities by stacking Glacio damage buff, on top of ATK and Crit values. This is easily made possible by using the Freezing Frost echoes set. When equipped, she can receive at most 40% boost, making her coordinated attacks and everything else hit way harder. 

Lampylumen Myriad as the active echo is highly recommended. Above extra glacio attacks, and freeze effects on small enemies, Zhezhi gains another source of power boost.

Best Zhezhi Wuthering Waves Echoes for Support: 5-piece Moonlit Clouds

What draws players to spend Astrites, Radiant Tides, and the various ascension materials on Zhezhi is her ability to provide multiple buffs tailored to specific characters. Players can choose Moonlit Clouds if they want to stack even more buffs into her kit.

Moonlit Clouds is a popular pick for off-field secondary damage dealers like Zhezhi and even Yinlin. Although Zhezhi’s damage during her Resonance Liberation might end up being a bit underwhelming when putting together a support build, she compensates by boosting the main DPS with valuable buffs. This set offers a 10% Energy regen for smoother rotations, and an additional ATK boost to the next resonator when using the Outro skill.

To add more buff, equip Impermanence Heron on the main Echo slot which will restore a portion of her energy, and increase the next character’s damage dealt.

The best Rectifier weapon available for Zhezhi in Wuthering Waves is her own signature weapon, Rime-draped Sprouts. For those who lack the resources to get this weapon, there are other alternatives for both experienced and newbies alike. Here are the list of all her best weapons. 

Rime-draped Sprouts

Players can’t go wrong by equipping the crit-damage rectifier, Rime-draped Sprouts, on an off-field character like Zhezhi. It boosts her ATK by 12% and can give up to a 36% damage increase to her basic attacks once she hits three stacks of this passive effect, which is where a lot of her damage comes from. Moreover, after casting her Outro skill, she gets a huge damage boost to her off-field basic attacks.

Stringmaster

Stringmaster is a crit rate weapon that also work wonders for the zhezhi. Besides, giving damage bonus, this weapon provides a huge chunk of ATK especially when she’s off the field. 

Cosmic Ripple

Cosmic Ripple is a solid choice from the standard weapon pool. What makes it stand out is its ability to boost her basic attack damage by up to 16%, giving Zhezhi exactly what she needs to deal even more damage.

Best team composition for Zhezhi in Wuthering Waves

With a support build for Zhezhi, the best team composition includes Jinhsi and Verina.

This trio has perfect synergy that no other composition even comes close to. Zhezhi offers resonance skill damage buff, coordinated attacks and a bit of energy regen, and it does look like her kit was just made for Jinhsi. These two also pair well with Verina, who is almost everyone’s best support right now, slightly owing to the lack of competition in her role. Slotting in Verina enables the team to enjoy reliable healing from her forte circuit and liberation, coordinated attacks, and impressive damage buff. 

With both Verina and Jinhsi’s coordinated attacks, Jinhsi can rapidly fill up her forte gauge, resulting to more devastating hits. 

Including Changli and Verina also makes a great trio for Zhezhi.

Much like Jinshi, Zhezhi can also be Changli’s premier buffer. Changli scales off resonance skill, which is the bread-and-butter of her kit. Additionally, resonance energy given by Zhezhi allows her to meet the energy requirements and cast her resonance liberation more often in a rotation. Similar to the previous team, Verina can be added for her teamwide healing and buffs.
