ZZZ’s 1.6 patch is coming and will bring a boatload of new story content and four banners; but which limited S-rank characters are worth pulling for?
For the first time in a long while, Zenless Zone Zero is set to add a new A-rank character. Enemy-turned-friend Pulchra will flesh out the game’s anemic roster of stunners and provide some serious value to the game’s next set of banners.
But who else is going to be featured? And who is worth pulling for? Here’s a full breakdown of the banners in ZZZ 1.6 and which characters you should pull for.
ZZZ version 1.6 banners, S-rank and A-rank characters
Soldier 0 Anby, Burnice, Trigger, and Zhu Yuan are set to be the limited S-rank characters in the next Zenless Zone Zero update.
Zenless Zone Zero patch 1.5 introduced rerun banners with Ellen and Qingyi both returning to Signal Search. Thankfully for many fans, that’s continuing with patch 1.6 and beyond.
Phase 1 of ZZZ patch 1.6 will include banners featuring the following characters:
- S-Rank: Soldier 0 Anby, Burnice
- A-Rank: Pulchra, Ben
As ever, Soldier 0 Anby and Burnice will run on separate banners and S-rank pulls will be subject to a 50-50. Even if players aren’t looking for either of these characters, Pulchra being a featured A-rank character offers loads of value for pulls.
Phase 2’s banners will feature these characters:
- S-Rank: Trigger, Zhu Yuan
- A-Rank: Lucy, Billy
While the first phase of ZZZ patch 1.6 will have Pulchra adding major value to the limited banner, that’s not the case with the second phase. Lucy and Billy will be available as A-rank characters. Lucy is a solid value, as she is a deceptively versatile off-field DPS and buffer and players who don’t have her fully mindscaped will benefit from doing so. Billy? Not so much. He remains one of, if not the, worst DPS options in the game, even if he has gotten some extra usability in Hollow Zero.
Who should I pull for in ZZZ update 1.6?
Burnice is the best character to pull for in Zenless Zone Zero version 1.6. Trigger and Soldier 0 Anby may be a solid value for many players, but Burnice is the most impactful of all the ZZZ 1.6 banner characters.
Though she’s been overshadowed to some degree by Miyabi and Yanagi, Burnice is a uniquely powerful character in ZZZ. Caesar, Burnice, and any DPS character makes for a strong team composition. Burnice next to any other anomaly agent makes for a strong disorder team core. There’s no real alternative to Burnice either, making her worth pulling for to anyone that missed her.
Soldier 0 Anby and Trigger may be of value for certain players. Both characters will be powerful, of course, but there are characters with the same attribute and role. They’re likely to be an upgrade over Harumasa and Qingyi, but players will likely be able to get by with both of them.
The one agent that’s worth avoiding is Zhu Yuan. While Zhu Yuan remains the only ether DPS option in the game, that’s probably not going to be the case for much longer. Either Hugo or Vivian, who will likely be ZZZ version 1.7’s new S-rank agents, are likely to join her.
With characters like Ellen falling out of relevance, Zhu Yuan likely won’t be too far behind.
