Zenless Zone Zero might only have three characters on a team, but that doesn’t mean HoYoverse is being merciful; ZZZ players just have a Bangboo as their fourth member. That makes getting Boopons and Bangbucks an important part of team-building in ZZZ, even if Bangboos aren’t necessarily waifu material.
Zenless Zone Zero may differ from sister titles Genshin Impact and Honkai Star Rail in some ways, but it’s still a gacha game at its core. As such, players can get new characters in ZZZ by rolling for them through the Signal Search banners. Players can spend Polychromes, the game’s main currency, to buy Master Tapes or Encrypted Master Tapes for rolling banners.
At a certain point, the players will encounter a new currency they cannot purchase with Polychromes; Boopons. Boopons, adorable as they may sound, are a currency reserved for a unique banner. Players can use these to roll for Bangboos, a versatile bunch of robots that can assist the player in battle. But how can one grind for these cyberpartners?
Every way to get Boopons in ZZZ
To acquire Boopons, the player can grind through the Battle Pass, upgrade Bangboos, raise their Inter-Knot level, finish bounties, or directly purchase them from the Signal Shop.
Most recurring “seasonal” Zenless Zone Zero events have some option for getting Boopons.
Players get five free Boopons from each New Eridu City Fund battle pass, with five more guaranteed to players who bought the premium. Once the player unlocks Hollow Zero mode and access to the Scott Outpost, they gain extra missions that raise their license level. Boopons are rewarded to the player every other two levels, so make sure to jump into Hollow Zero on a weekly basis.
The best recurring option for acquiring Boopons is from the Scott Outpost logistics shop. Alongside license levels, Scott Outpost’s shop offers five Boopons in the Outpost Logistics and Association Supplies sections. This gives players up to 10 Boopons per month, which are easily obtainable if players keep up on completing missions. Special events may also grant rewards, so keep an eye on social media and in-game promotions.
Finally, similar to Master Tapes for agents, players get a single Boopon after promoting a Bangboo.
Many players advise newbies to save their Boopons for Bangboos that provide faction or element-specific buffs. These Bangboos are considerably better than those who provide more generic buffs. Boopons are the only currency players cannot get with money, saving is the best choice. That said, there are other methods of acquiring Boopons.
How to get Bangbucks in Zenless Zone Zero
Players can only get Bangbucks after pulling for Bangboos on the “An Outstanding Partner” signal channel.
Bangbucks work the same way that Residual Signal does for agent pulls. Players receive a certain number of Bangbucks as they pull duplicate Bangboos. Bangbucks can then be used to purchase upgrade materials, specific Bangboos, or more Boopons.
In that way, the Bangboo economy is surprisingly closed off from the rest of the currency. For players without a Bangboo representing their faction, it may be smart to hold onto those Boopons first.
New players who don’t intend to spend money need to be particularly wary, though. Given how much randomness there is in agent pulls, players will want to make sure they know what their teams will look like before they start pulling Bangboos for it.
