Already boasting a colorful cast of characters, Astro Bot could be getting a DLC in the future that brings in even more IPs.
After its debut on September 6, fans have set out to collect all of the hundreds of VIP bots available in the game. VIP bots are hidden throughout the game but, once found, they can help Astro navigate different obstacles and find more bots. Information in the game’s credits, however, teases that additional recognizable designs may be on the way.
Here are the IPs that may make an appearance in Astro Bot DLC content.
An Astro Bot DLC will likely feature Rayman, Assassin’s Creed bots
Astro Bot is getting DLC that will include VIP bots from a number of major third-party franchises with roots on PlayStation consoles.
The Astro Bot credits include a number of IPs not included in Easter eggs or the game itself, leading many to believe more VIP bots are coming. Currently, Astro Bot contains 150 different VIP bot cameos from Playstation’s first-party IPs and various major third-party titles. Major names include Kratos from God of War, Crash from Crash Bandicoot, and Lara Croft from Tomb Raider.
However, several more franchises that didn’t appear in the game are listed the post-game credits. This likely means that more cameos will be introduced in future content. IPs listed in the credits but not featured in the game include:
- Worms
- Stellar Blade
- Rise of the Ronin
- Rayman
- Beyond Good & Evil
- Assassin’s Creed
- Croc Legend of the Gobbos
Though some teased characters from games such as Twisted Metal and Fat Princess have been cut from teaser material, fans are likely to see bot versions of the Rabbids, Worms, and Eve in Astro Bot. Their crediting all but confirms that they will feature in the game at some point.
Astro Bot DLC release date
Astro Bot developer Team Asobi confirmed that post-game DLC is incoming, although no dates have been announced.
The studio revealed last month that they planned on releasing ten new challenge levels and five speedrun levels. However, the exact numbers may change as the team gets closer to releasing new content. While Team Asobi hasn’t explicitly mentioned more VIP bot cameos in the Astro Bot DLCs, that doesn’t rule out their inclusion at all.
Astro Bot is available only on the PlayStation 5, with the deluxe edition offering digital rewards. Given its high ratings, new players are sure to enjoy themselves and possibly play a future GOTY.
