Concord got its 1st roadmap, here’s what coming in Seasons 1 & 2

Developer Firewalk Studios and publisher Sony have shared their post-launch content roadmap for the upcoming multiplayer shooter Concord, including what’s coming in Seasons 1 and 2.

This is Sony’s second shot at a PlayStation 5-PC live service game this year following the early success of Helldivers 2. Obviously, the plan is to keep Concord going for a long time with regular content updates. Concord faces stiff competition, though.

There’s no shortage of other multiplayer shooters on the market that have established player bases, like Riot Games’ Valorant which is also now available on consoles. Not to mention Valve’s upcoming Deadlock, which hasn’t been formally announced yet but still somehow managed to attract a bigger player count on PC than Concord’s beta.

It’s far too early to tell how well Concord will perform. Being a premium title priced at $40 means there’s already a barrier to entry when the game’s release date comes, as opposed to its free-to-play competitors. However, it won’t have battle passes or even any paid DLC, with all content updates to be completely free. So what do players actually get at launch, then?

Concord launch and Season 1 plans revealed

Concord will launch with six PvP modes, 12 maps, 16 playable characters, and a variety of rewards to unlock.

The developers revealed what their plans are following the game’s launch. The roadmap also mentions there will be solo training and time trial modes, no doubt to let players practice as their freegunner of choice.

Currently, the plan is for Concord season 1 to begin sometime in October, two months after launch. While more concrete details will most likely be shared closer to that time, Firewalk has given an outline of what players can expect. The two main additions will be a brand new freegunner and map. There will be even more variants too, but Firewalk Studios hasn’t provided an exact number. On top of that, there will naturally be new cosmetic rewards to unlock, quality-of-life updates, and new story vignettes.

When is Concord season 2 and what will be included?

Concord Season 2 is scheduled to release in January 2025, three months after Season 1.

This is assuming there are no delays. The content plans for the second season also more or less the same as the first. It’ll add a another freegunner, another map, more variants, cosmetics, quality-of-life updates, and vignettes. Season 2 will also introduce a new gameplay mode, but Firewalk hasn’t so much as teased what it could be.

The roadmap confirms a third season is slated for April 2025. Knowing this, it’s safe to assume new seasons of Concord will arrive ever three months or so. Based on the first two seasons, it also seems like Firewalk is aiming to add one new playable character and map every season. At the very least, players should expect regular new cosmetics and story vignettes.
