Alice is coming in ZZZ and she’s going to bring something unique to disorder team compositions; with the right build, of course.
Zenless Zone Zero is adding a new on-field anomaly agent and that’s good news for everyone that’s been running disorder compositions. There’s been a longstanding shortage of on-field anomaly agents with Piper and Grace being power-crept down the ZZZ tier list while Jane finds herself slipping, too.
Alice doesn’t bring anything radically different to the table for ZZZ players, combining Miyabi-style gameplay with abilities similar to Yanagi, but her unique style of assault sets her apart from the pack. Here’s how to build her.
How to play Alice in Zenless Zone Zero
Alice is a relatively straightforward anomaly agent who is functionally similar to Miyabi, just as the physical attribute.
Alice has a special “Blade Etiquette” meter under her health bar that builds up as she attacks and ZZZ players can use that meter by pressing and holding the basic attack button. Pressing and holding this button when the meter is full allows Alice to unleash a flurry of attacks and proc a special “polarized” assault that triggers an extra disorder.
In this way, she’s a combination of Miyabi and Yanagi. This is great news for players who pull her, as it effectively guarantees her value going forward. She’ll instantly supplant OG limited S-rank anomaly agent Jane Doe at launch. Years from now, even with sustained power creep, she’ll likely be able to provide some solid value as a sub-DPS.
Best Alice Drive Disc build in ZZZ
Alice’s best Drive Disc build is four-piece Fanged Metal with two-piece Phaethon’s Melody.
While there are plenty of agents that give players flexibility when it comes to their Drive Discs, like the many possible builds for Hugo, Alice is much more rigid. Here’s which stats to prioritize for each Drive Disc slot:
- HP
- Attack
- Defense
- Anomaly proficiency
- Physical damage
- Anomaly mastery
Alice’s core passive scales on her anomaly mastery stat while her ability to proc assaults relies on her anomaly proficiency, so there’s little wiggle room for creativity here. In terms of substats, anomaly proficiency is the clear priority, while also benefiting from PEN. Attack% and attack are distant third and fourth-place options.
Best Alice W-Engines
Practiced Perfection is Alice’s best W-Engine and none of the alternatives come particularly close.
Alice’s signature W-Engine isn’t just central to a perfect build for the character, it’s one of the most individually powerful weapons in all of ZZZ. Not only does it give 713 base attack at max level with an additional 30% attack boost on top of that, it also gives an extra 60 anomaly mastery for free. Its effect is also perfect for Alice, giving stackable 20% physical damage boosts when proccing assault.
The best free W-Engine alternative for Alice is either Fusion Compiler or Weeping Gemini. Grace’s signature W-Engine is designed to be generally good for all anomaly agents while Weeping Gemini is good for any anomaly agent in a disorder-focused team composition.
Best Alice ZZZ team compositions
Alice is specifically tailored to fit into almost any disorder team composition, though she works best alongside off-field anomaly agents. Her overall kit may see her one day slide into more of a sub-DPS option but for the foreseeable future, an Alice with a good build is going to be one of ZZZ’s best on-field DPS options. This means picking teams that let her stay on the field, and ideally buff her further.
Spook Shack and Friends – Alice, Yuzuha, and Vivian (Miss Esme)
Alice and Yuzuha are specifically designed to synergize with each other, and there are plenty of options for a third agent. The third spot on the team can be given to literally any anomaly agent, but it should go to one that doesn’t want much field time. Vivian is the best in this regard but Burnice and Yanagi are also very good here.
Best Alice F2P team composition – Alice, Pulchra, Lucy (Red Moccus)
Alice wants to be on the field as much as possible, which gels well with these A-rank Sons of Calydon agents. Pulchra offers off-field stun buildup while a well-built Lucy offers both buffs and some damage of her own. This general concept applies across every other reasonable team composition with Alice in Zenless Zone Zero.
Whether free-to-play or not, this is the approach to take with Alice when she’s not in a disorder team composition. Alice ought to be on the field as much as possible so look for other supporting pieces that get in and get out quickly. Astra Yao, Nicole, and Caesar all fit into these niches while Qingyi and Anby don’t.
