Genshin Impact’s sixth archon, Mavuika, is on her way, leaving players wondering what materials she’ll need for character and talent ascensions.
The Pyro archon of Natlan is coming to Genshin Impact, and fans couldn’t be more hyped. Mavuika, a five-star Pyro Nightsoul-aligned claymore character from Natlan, leans heavily into the DPS role, as opposed to many players’ expectations. In terms of team compositions, she offers flexibility with her off-field Pyro application and damage buff. Despite the silence on Mavuika’s drip marketing, credible leaks point to her arrival in version 5.3.
Having that said, anyone planning to main her should start pre-farming her materials. Here’s a full list of all Mavuika ascension and talent materials.

How and where to farm Mavuika ascension materials
Agnidus Agate gemstones are staples for the character ascensions of Pyro characters like Mavuika, Lyney, and Hutao in Genshin Impact. This material is obtained by defeating the following bosses.
- Andrius
- Azhdaha (Weekly Boss)
- La Signora
- The Knave
- “Statue of Marble and Brass”
- Algorithm of Semi-Intransient Matrix of Overseer Network
- Emperor of Fire and Iron
- Holawaqa Ngoubou
- Iniquitous Baptist
- Primo Geovishap
- Pyro Hypostasis
- Pyro Regisvine
- Tenebrous Papilla
Players can use the crafting table to convert low-tier gemstones into high-tier ones or transform materials from other elements with the help of Dust of Azoth.
Much like Xilonen, the Pyro archon also needs the Gold-Inscribed Secret Source Core for ascension. This item is dropped by the Secret Source Automaton Configuration Device Field boss, located in the underground area of Toyac Springs in Natlan.
Withering Purpurbloom is a unique local specialty found only in Natlan. There are just 80 of these items per world, with a 48-hour respawn time. This goes to say that farming all 168 Withering Purpurblooms will take about four days to complete. However, if players are eager to collect them faster, they can visit another world or interact with Kannek for the first time to receive five pieces of this material.
Note that adding a Natlan character with a local specialty passive allows players to mark Withering Purpurblooms on their minimap, making farming easier.
Defeating the Sauroform Tribal Warriors grants Sentry’s Wooden Whistle, Warrior’s Metal Whistle, and Saurian-Crowned Warrior’s Golden Whistle. These enemies are widely dispersed across Natlan, so collecting the required amount of whistles is easy.

Players can increase Mavuika’s talents up to level 10 by gathering Teachings of Contention, Guide to Contention, Philosophies of Contention, Sentry’s Wooden Whistle, Warrior’s Metal Whistle, Saurian-Crowned Warrior’s Golden Whistle, Unnamed Boss Material and mora.
Here are all the materials Mavuika needs for every talent ascension level.
- Level 2: 3 Teachings of Contention, 6 Sentry’s Wooden Whistle, and 12,500 mora
- Level 3: 2 Guide to Contention, 3 Warrior’s Metal Whistle, and 17,500 mora
- Level 4: 4 Guide to Contention, 4 Warrior’s Metal Whistle, and 25,000 mora

The best way to farm Mavuika talent materials
Contention talent books are what Mavuika needs to upgrade her skills. All a player has to do is enter the Blazing Ruins domain which rests on Coatepec Mountain in Natlan, and spend resins on it. Contention books though are only available every Monday, Thursday, and Sunday.
As of now, Mavuika’s boss material hasn’t been revealed, so players won’t be able to farm it before her release. However, it’s likely to drop in the new area coming with version 5.3.
Mavuika is a damage-focused character, so a lot of players, especially archon collectors, might want to crown her talents. To do that, they’ll need to use a Crown of Insight for each talent to get them to level 10. This is a rare item that can only be obtained through the Offering System, Flagship events, and Paimon’s Bargain.
