How to get Genshin Impact login, link HoYoverse account on PS5

PS5 players need to jump through some extra hoops when it comes to linking a HoYoverse account for cross-progression, topping up, other features in Genshin Impact.

Genshin Impact is a huge game, reportedly boasting about 10 million daily and 65 million monthly players in early 2024. A key reason behind its high player count is that it’s on multiple platforms, including the PlayStation 5. Additionally, cross-progression lets players continue their adventure on whichever platform they want while keeping the same account details.

By linking their PS5 and HoYoverse account information, Genshin Impact fans can figure out what accounts have cross-progress in them. However, some players may find it difficult to find their login and account information on the PS5 version of Genshin Impact, leading to difficulty when enabling the cross-progression feature. Thankfully, it’s not hard to get this sorted.

How can players find their Genshin Impact account information on the PS5?

PlayStation 5 players can find their Genshin Impact login and account information from the user center.

Finding account information can be crucial for various reasons, including cross-progression and purchasing currency. However, it isn’t made explicit, especially in the PS4 and PS5 versions of the game.

User Center in Genshin Impact

Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to access the user center in Genshin Impact on the PS5:

  1. Open the Paimon menu by pressing the options button
  2. Open the settings menu
  3. Go to the account tab
  4. Choose the “User Center” option

Selecting the user center will open a tab with the user’s data. This includes information like the current account’s username and email.

PlayStation players must select “login with existing HoYoverse ID” in the Genshin Impact user center to link a new account.

If the player accidentally creates a new account, they can still use the cross-progression system to play with an existing PC or mobile account. All they have to do is log out of the accidental account and use the same login credentials as their other HoYoverse account. This is potentially usable for rerolling purposes, but not if a PSN account is already linked through a different miHoYo game.

Players who want to link their mobile or PC account to the PS4 or PS5 version of Genshin Impact need to log into their HoYoverse account on their gaming console. Using the login information of the HoYoverse account should effortlessly let players continue their progress

Genshin Impact players who started on PlayStation consoles and want to move to mobile or PC can do so by creating a HoYoverse account on the company website. PS4 and PS5 players don’t necessarily need a HoYoverse account in order to start playing the game. If players advance in the PlayStation version of Genshin Impact and want to take that progress to a mobile device or PC, they’ll need to link their PSN account to a HoYoverse account through the in-game user center.

Cross-progression between platforms is fairly seamless for most HoYoverse games, with Genshin Impact and Honkai Star Rail enjoying this.

It’s worth noting that the way purchases work is different. If a player buys something on mobile or PC, it will be on the PlayStation 5. On the other hand, if they purchase something on PSN, it will only be available on PlayStation 5 and 4. This restriction only applies to purchasable premium currency and won’t affect characters, Primogems, and quest progress.
