Reports suggest Persona 6’s development is farther along than expected and more details are being reported on, including the game’s color.
Persona 3 Reload has been a runaway success for Atlus since its February 2024 release. The remake garnered critical among the highest in the Persona franchise, while it also stands as the fastest-selling game in the history of the series. Persona 3 Reload sold 1 million units within its first week, something that has Sega and Atlus prioritizing the series moving forward and potentially accelerating the development of new installments.
Although The Answer DLC for Persona 3 Reload will arrive later in 2024, fans are still clamoring for a new mainline entry in the Persona franchise. Recent reports suggest the development of Persona 6 may be closer to completion than previously thought.
What is Persona 6’s color?
Persona 6’s color will reportedly be green.
The information comes from Midori, a notable Sega leaker who has accurately reported major details regarding Persona titles, including revealing the contents of Persona 5 Tactica’s DLC, discussed the status of Persona 6 and other topics related to the game. This was kicked off by flatly stating that the game’s color scheme is green.
Fans have divined a few details about Persona 6 from subtle hints in promotional material. A 25th-anniversary illustration showcased every playable Persona protagonist in front of a graffitied wall. Noticeably, a green bucket of paint sat in the corner of the picture, despite green not being a prominent color in the graffiti behind them.
That small detail led to speculations that Persona 6’s color motif would be green. Midori, whose name coincidentally means green in Japanese, also claims it will be Persona 6’s primary color. Persona’s certainly on an upswing right now, and fans have plenty to look forward to. A previous leaker that primarily covers Sega and Square Enix stated that the game’s color scheme would be green, black, and white while Midori stated that the game’s internal codename was “Carbon.”
How long have they been making Persona 6?
Persona 6 has reportedly been in development since 2019, with work starting alongside Persona 3 Reload and Persona 5 Tactica.
Midori states that Persona 5 Tactica, Persona 3 Reload, and Persona 6 all began development around the same time. Tactica launched in November 2023, while Persona 3 Reload followed in February 2024 with a large marketing push behind it. She also previously reported a number of other projects in the works in the Persona series at Atlus including remakes of Persona 2 and Persona 4, alongside a Persona-themed party game that includes characters from each major installment of the game.
Neither Sega nor Atlus have confirmed any of Midori’s reports. Regardless, fans have a major release to look forward to from the studio in the near future with Metaphor: ReFantazio and Shin Megami Tensei 5: Vengeance.
