Elden Ring has loads of great mods in 2025, letting players experience this modern classic in brand-new ways.
FromSoftware games have a deceptively strong modding scene. While the most famous example of this is players cheating not only the games but themselves by lowering the difficulty, there are plenty of other options out there. Seasoned players can make their next playthrough a brand-new experience, while new players can enjoy a bit more freedom and flexibility when it comes to some of the game’s tougher fights and choices.
With Elden Ring being more than a few years old at this point, it’s worth taking a look at the best mods and what they offer to players.

The Convergence
The Convergence mod for Elden Ring radically overhauls the entire experience. Similar to other mods seen in Dark Souls games, The Convergence mixes up the experience by giving the Tarnished different starting points based on their starting class. Alongside this are new methods of traversing the Lands Between, making it so players have even more options for progression.
On top of all this is a large roundup of new weapons, armor, spells, and bosses. This doesn’t just mix up the experience but also helps break up the biggest problem with the Elden Ring base game; the recycled enemies.

Elden Ring Seamless Co-op mod
FromSoftware has made co-op gameplay an awkward experience in its games. Some of that is intentional as a means of balancing the game, but it’s awkward for those who actively want to play with friends.
The Elden Ring Seamless Co-op fixes that by letting players invite multiple friends into their world to freely enjoy the experience. No Furlcalling Finger Remedies needed. The installation and startup process can be awkward though, so make sure to check out Gameland’s full guide.

Elden Ring Item and Enemy Randomizer mod
Randomizers are a standard mod type for RPGs ranging from The Legend of Zelda to all the classic Pokemon games. They’re also popular in FromSoftware games.
The Elden Ring Item and Randomizer Mod mixes things up in a way where players have to think on their feet. That said, the mod also shuffles things in a logical way. Different enemy types from common enemies to field bosses to major bosses are all kept within their respective roles, but have their locations mixed up. This maintains a logical progression to the game, but keeps things from getting overly wacky.

Elden Ring Summon Randomizer
Randomizers are always fun, but what if you want mods that mix up Elden Ring just a bit? Check out the Elden Ring Summon Randomizer.
This mod does exactly what the name suggests, mixing up which Elden Ring Spirit Ash summon appears when the player rings their bell. On its own, this mod lets players inject a bit of extra fun into their experience as they could fight alongside anything from a Mimic Tear to a Rotten Stray to Demihuman Swordsman Yosh.
Given how integral these summons are to many playthroughs, randomizing them makes for a unique experience. Players will have to adjust to their pull on the fly, something that can be both fun and frustrating. Still, it’s a simple way to freshen up the experience for players who are wanting an experience that’s a bit more varied than the vanilla one.
Elden Ring Save Manager
This is technically more of a tool than a mod, but it’s something that both new and experienced Elden Ring players can get a lot of value from.
There are loads of binary choices in Elden Ring that block players from getting some of the best weapons, summons, spells, and gear. Elden Ring DLC players in particular dealt with this, as they had to deal with the Needle Knight Leda questline, handle the Irises of Grace and Occultation, and pick out which Bayle the Dread spell to get. These questlines all offer players a choice of which rewards they get, but there’s no guarantee they’ll actually like their choice. Nor is there any way to take things on a test run.
The Elden Ring Save Manager lets players effectively back up and restore saves. Not only that, but it lets them use saves from other players, letting them practicesagainst bosses before using limited resources or try out items before committing to them.
