The Pokemon Company hit fans with a double whammy of big reveals including the date of the next Pokemon Presents event, but how likely is a gen-10 reveal?
The Pokemon Company has a lot on the stove right now, but it’s keeping things relatively low key. That was demonstrated by the quiet announcement of Pokemon Legends: Z-A’s release date. But snuggled in right alongside it was the reveal of a new Pokemon Presents event.
Though Pokemon Legends: Z-A is the next big game release for the company, there’s a good chance that it will have some company. But should fans really buy into the idea of a Pokemon gen-10 reveal at this event?
When is the next Pokemon Presents event?
The next Pokemon Presents event is slated for July 22, 2025. The event will be broadcasted through Pokemon’s dedicated social media channels.
The last Pokemon Presents event was in February on Pokemon Day. While much of it was revealing expansions and events in existing Pokemon games, it did give fans a look at Pokemon Legends: Z-A for the first time since its initial reveal. The other major announcement was Pokemon Champions, a game on mobile devices and Switch consoles that focuses on Pokemon battling.
The next Pokemon Presents event will be the second of 2025. While that’s what fans have generally expected from The Pokemon Company, 2024 featured just one Pokemon Presents event.
Will the gen-10 Pokemon games be revealed in the next Pokemon Presents?
There is a chance that the next Pokemon Presents event will reveal the gen-10 Pokemon games, or a new mainline installment in the Pokemon series.
In 2024, Game Freak fell victim to a major data breach, with a wealth of information hitting the web. The company confirmed that its data had been compromised and issued DMCA claims on social media posts containing the content.
This included a vast assortment of unreleased designs for Pokemon and internal discussions regarding the games and anime. In terms of video games, it also information regarding four upcoming titles; Pokemon Legends: Z-A, Project Synapse, Project Gaia K, and Project Gaia N. Project Synapse was said to be an online Pokemon title, and was likely Pokemon Champions. Project Gaia K and N remain a mystery, but the fact that they share a name strongly suggests they are new mainline Pokemon games.
There’s little doubt that gen-10 Pokemon games are in development given the success of the franchise. The only real question is whether they’ll be revealed in the next Pokemon Presents.
All the gen-eight Pokemon games, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, and Pokemon Legends Z-A were revealed on Pokemon Day events. However, mainline games and other major releases including Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, New Pokemon Snap, and Pokemon Unite were all announced during summer Pokemon Presents events.
The big issue is how Pokemon already has a great deal to talk about. Alongside the usual roundup of events and updates to existing games, Pokemon Legends: Z-A will be featured and more details will be offered on Pokemon Champions. All signs point to gen-10 Pokemon games launching in 2026 as part of the 30th anniversary of the series.
That reveal could come here, or it could come at the 2026 Pokemon Day.
