With the general reception for Hades 2’s early access being so positive, fans will want to know when they can expect the full game to come out.
Hades 2 is the much-awaited sequel to one of 2020’s surprising hits. Following the same roguelike formula as its prequel, Hades 2 builds on much of what made the first Hades so memorable while introducing players to new and familiar faces. However, Melinoe’s story isn’t over yet.
Hades 2 came out in early access for Windows in May 2024. While players have access to a lot of content, especially thanks to the many updates throughout the early access, many are waiting for the full release. Those who either completed the existing game or want to play Hades 2 when everything is available will want to know when they can expect the game’s full release.
When will Hades 2 fully come out?
Hades 2’s version 1.0 will come out on September 25, 2025, for Steam, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and the Epic Games Store.
Players who played Hades 2 when the early access initially kicked off could already face the final boss of the Underworld section. While the surface section was largely incomplete, the Olympus update helped fix that by introducing a new region and boss. Now, players have much more content to explore than they did when early access started.

Developer Supergiant Games revealed during 2025’s September 12 Nintendo Direct that the game would come out of early access on September 25. 2025. This announcement came just two months after The Unseen Update, which added more content to the game and brought it closer to completion.
Will Hades 2 be on consoles?
Hades 2 will likely come out on PlayStation and Xbox consoles sometime after leaving early access.
The first Hades saw its console release after its post-early access launch and players can expect the same for Hades 2. However, it’s unknown how long after the full release players will have to wait to play Hades 2 on any console that doesn’t have Switch in its name.
The prequel officially came out for Windows, macOS, and the Nintendo Switch on September 17, 2020. Console players got to play the game almost a year later, on August 13, 2021, while iOS players saw a surprise release in 2024. Hades 2 has more support and many more eyes on it than the first game, but a 2026 console release is possible.
