With the best build, Camellya can become the most dominant DPS resonator in Wuthering Waves.
More resonators from the Black Shore are arriving—first Aalto, then Shorekeeper, and now Camellya. Though her playable debut comes a bit after the main questline, the excitement surrounding her release hasn’t waned.
Camellya is a five-star Havoc Sword DPS whose damage scales heavily with basic attacks. Camellya’s damage ceiling rivals Jinhsi’s, making her a popular DPS pick. While her base stats and skills are impressive, the right weapons and team build can make her shine even more.
How to play Camellya in Wuthering Waves
Camellya is a powerful but selfish Havoc on-field DPS who relies on basic attacks. She also benefits from staying on the field longer. Her steady DPS and heavy damage nukes get more effective the longer she survives a firefight.
The Bloom Bearer of Black Shores has two distinct forms. Her second form, Blossom Mode, matters most for DPS players. She enters this form with her resonance skill, which lifts her into the air with vines and turns her hair crimson. Although she can cast attacks, Camellya remains stationary unless she uses her dash to adjust her position.
When swapping into Camellya and using her intro skill, she instantly fills her Forte bar. Unlike other resonators who focus on filling up their Forte bar, Camellya drains it herself by using normal and hold attacks.
Each time her Forte decreases, Camellya gains Crimson Buds, up to 10 stacks. When her concerto energy is fully charged, her resonance skill changes to Ephemeral. Ephemeral lets her unleash a huge nuke on nearby enemies, dealing the highest one-shot damage, before entering Budding Mode.
Budding Mode is like an upgraded version of her Blossom Mode. In this state, all of Camellya’s attacks, except for resonance liberation, dish out more damage. The damage boost between the two forms depends a lot on how many Crimson Buds she’s gathered.
Even with all the layers in Camellya’s kit, she’s not that complicated. Her highest damage combo is relatively easy to pull off.
- Intro skill
- Resonance skill
- Resonance liberation
- Hold the basic attack until the spinning attack finishes
- Continue building concerto energy
- Plunge
- Cast Ephemeral (resonance skill)
- Hold basic attack to unleash spinning attacks
- Outro skill
Camellya’s spinning attack deals the most damage and outranges all her basic attacks. It also covers a huge AoE and auto-parries any incoming attacks. On the flip side, her resonance liberation is just a single burst of damage. A powerful Camellya build allows players to unleash devastating damage.
Best WuWa Camellya Echoes set
The 5-piece Sun-sinking Eclipse and 5-piece Lingering Tunes are the top Echo options for the best Camellya build in Wuthering Waves. Since Camellya is an attack-scaling Havoc DPS, the choices just come down to boosting any of these attributes.
5-piece Sun-sinking Eclipse
Sun-sinking Eclipse appears as though it was made to complement Camellya’s kit. This echo set’s sonata effects provide a nice boost to her havoc damage. With her frequent use of basic and heavy attacks, she can stack this effect effortlessly.
As for the main echo, players can choose to equip Crownless or Dreamless.
Here’s the list of all Sun-sinking Eclipse echoes:
- Crownless
- Dreamless
- Havoc Dreadmane
- Roseshroom
- Tambourinist
- Young Roseshroom
- Chirpuff
- Excarat
- Glacio Prism
- Havoc Prism
- Havoc Warrior
- Tick Tack
5-piece Lingering Tunes
Much like Sun-sinking Eclipse, Lingering Tunes is a perfect fit for Camellya as well. LT’s sonata effect is a good source of attack. It also heavily favors DPS units who thrive better in extended field time like her, as the longer they stay on the field, the higher the ATK boost they receive.
Mech Abomination is currently the only main Echo available for this echo set, which will subsequently give more attack buff upon casting its active skill.
Here’s the list of all Lingering Tunes echoes:
- Mech Abomination
- Chasm Guardian
- Flautist
- Spearback
- Young Geohide Saurian
- Diamondclaw
- Fusion Prism
- Hooscamp
- Snip Snap
- Tick Tack
- Vanguard Junrock
- Zig Zag
- Lava Larva
2-piece Sun-sinking and 2-piece Lingering Tunes
Combining two-piece Sun-sinking Eclipse and two-piece Lingering Tunes can be viable, although it slightly falls behind the 5-piece sets. This could be a solid alternative while hunting for 5-piece sets with better main and substat rolls.
Best WuWa Weapons build for Camellya
Camellya’s best weapons are Red Spring, Emerald of Genesis, and Blazing Brilliance. Beginners and F2P players are in luck too, as she has some affordable but viable alternatives like Lumingloss and Commando of Conviction.
Red Spring (5-star)
Signature weapons are usually the best choice, and Camellya’s Red Spring is no exception. Red Spring is a crit rate weapon that also provides a sizeable amount of attack and a basic attack damage bonus. When concerto energy is consumed, it further increases the impact of each basic attack Camellya delivers, particularly during Budding Mode.
Red Spring is the only 5-star weapon that provides crit, attack, and basic attack damage all in one, making it the clear top choice for Camellya.
Emerald of Genesis (5-star)
Emerald of Genesis, one of the standard banner weapons, pairs well with Camellya as it also gives a crit rate. While energy regen isn’t crucially important for her, it’s a nice bonus. She also receives some attack stats just by casting her resonance skill.
Blazing Brilliance (5-star)
If more crit damage is needed, Blazing Brilliance could be the best pick for the best Camellya build. While Blazing Brilliance’s passive effect, except the attack increase, won’t have much impact on Camellya’s damage, it’s still a great stats stick to have for her.
Lumingloss (4-star)
Lumingloss is a great free-to-play option for Camellya. It’s an ATK% weapon that also boosts her basic and heavy attack damage. As far as weapons go, it’s the most “plug-and-play” option since it just amps up Camellya’s typical playstyle.
Commando of Conviction (4-star)
Commando of Conviction offers a hefty attack increase, which translates into a direct boost to Camellya’s damage.
Th best WuWa Camellya team build
As a Havoc DPS heavily reliant on basic attacks, Camellya performs best in a team with Sanhua and a healer/buffer in the flex slot. As the premier sub-DPS support for amplifying basic attacks, Sanhua is an important part of Camellya’s core team.
Camellya Premium Team: Camellya, Sanhua and Shorekeeper
Camellya’s best-in-slot team puts her in a trio with Sanhua and the Shorekeeper.
Sanhua, a 4-star, is a sub-DPS whose outro skill provides teamwide basic attack damage amplification by 38%. She also doesn’t need much field time, which works perfectly with Camellya. The only drawback is that her buff lasts just 14 seconds. That is much shorter than what Camellya ideally needs.
The flex spot goes to Shorekeeper, Wuwa’s best support and healer right now. With Shorekeeper on the team, Camellya gets a 12.5% crit rate boost and 25% crit damage by using her resonance liberation. Not to mention, Camellya’s 25-second rotation lines up perfectly with the duration of Shorekeeper’s resonance liberation.
Camellya Vine Team: Camellya, Sanhua and Verina
In this setup, Camellya isn’t the only one bringing out vines. Verina takes the flex spot, acting as the team’s healer and buffer. While Verina’s buffs don’t quite match up to Shorekeeper’s, the ATK boost she provides makes her the next best support option. Verina is much more beginner-friendly thanks to her straightforward kit.
Camellya F2P Team: Camellya, Sanhua and Baizhi
New players or those who don’t have many resources to pull for 5-star units will want this team comp. Her best F2P team includes two four-star characters that can be obtained free early on. Sanhua boosts basic attack damage, and Baizhi takes care of healing with some ATK buff.
